Raven's POV:
4 year later...With all of us out of high school, it's been pretty hard to keep in touch with everyone. Clark is in medical school to become a surgeon. And I️ think we all know she'll be a great doctor. Lexa is the owner of a very popular coffee shop, which is actually we're all of us meet up most of the time. I'm currently working as a mechanic. I think it was my calling, because I️ love every minute of it. Octavia hasn't been around much lately, she'll hang out at the coffee shop every once in a while, but she's been spending a lot of time at the fire house she and this guy Lincoln work at.
I've actually been kinda worried about our relationship. We only live two towns away, and only call once a week. And if I'm lucky, I'll see her once every two months. Maybe I'm just worried for nothing, but I️ feel like I️ should be able to see my girlfriend more often. I️ mean it's been two years of this.
Later today I️ get to see everyone again anyways, so maybe I'll talk to Octavia about us.
————————————————————————
At the coffee shop:As usual, Octavia shows up late. Everyone else has already been here for an hour, it's been fun catching up again. But this time, she brought a guy with her. I️ assume it's Lincoln.
"Hey guys sorry I'm late, Lincoln and got stuck in traffic," Octavia says, taking off her jacket and plopping onto the couch next to me.
She takes my hand and kisses it like she used to do when we first started dating. It gave me a cozy feeling inside, and I️ remembered why I️ love this girl more than anything.
Lincoln abruptly stood up. "I'm gonna get some coffee, anyone want anything?" He walked away after talking everyone's orders. I️ notice Clark and Lexa exchange glances.
"What's wrong?" I️ ask.
"Nothing," they say together.
I don't think it's nothing, but I️ decided not to let that ruin my only time with Octavia. Who knows when I'll be able to see her again.
Lincoln came back, somehow holding five cups at once, placed them on the table in front of us, and sat down next to us. No one really knew what to say after that, it was just awkward silence for what seemed like forever.
"Hey, Raven, I've been meaning to tell you, I'm going hiking this weekend with some people from the fire house. We'd love it if you could come with us. They all really want to meet you," Octavia said she seemed to forget about my leg.
"I️ don't know if hiking is the best thing for me, O," I️ explained kind of embarrassed. My brace has been hurting lately.
"Come on. It'll be fun. Besides, I️ could help you if you're brace starts to bother you,"
"Fine, but you're probably going to end up carrying me," I️ say with a smirk.
"Oh I'm sure that won't be a problem," She giggles.
Clark obnoxiously clears her throat, which makes everyone laugh. Except for Lincoln, I️ think this whole thing is making him uncomfortable.
For the next two hours, we talked about random topics and inside jokes, and all of us had a pretty good time. It was also nice having Lincoln around. It's been awhile since someone new has hung out with us.
I'm looking forward to the hike too. It'll be good for me to meet the people Octavia spends most of her time with. And maybe I'll get to hang out with her more if her friends like me.
