"Oh CRAP!" a boy cried out in the corridor. Jungkook ran out of his flat closely followed by Namjoon and Jin. A number of cardboard boxes laid fallen on the ground and they could hear someone crying in pain.
They reached the staircase and saw a boy with dirty blonde hair, in shorts and an oversized shirt, at the foot of the stairs. He had a sheepish look on his face but anyone could also tell he was in pain. 'He could have broken a bone', Jungkook thought running down the stairs to help.
"Hey, are you okay?" Jungkook questioned, worried.
The boy smirked "A little fall like this cannot hurt me... but I think I wouldn't mind being carried in your arms up these stairs."
Well, that was probably one of the cringiest pick-up lines Jungkook had ever heard in his life, even after considering the fact that people rarely hit on him.
Jungkook decided this wasn't the time to flirt as the boy could be injured. He put his arms out and lifted him up, effortlessly. Months of working out in the gym to kill some boredom had made him strong.
The boy nervously giggled as he was carried upstairs.
Namjoon opened the door to their flat and Jungkook laid the boy down on the sofa. Jin noticed that the boy had wounded his knees and they were bleeding. He could also see a small swelling forming on the boy's head. The boy looked flustered and he guessed that was perhaps because of the fall. He got up and left the living room to find an ice-pack and the first aid kit.
"Hi, I'm Namjoon and this is my flat mate Jungkook... so, what happened? How did you fall down? Are you moving here? What's your name?" Namjoon asked multiple questions to the boy, impatient to know more about him, as he helped him adjust on the sofa.
"Woah, woah! Calm down! Too many questions. Let's not forget I just fell down a flight of stairs and hit my head!" the boy chuckled.
Jungkook sat across the room on a bean-bag and couldn't help but frown at the boy. He wasn't really comfortable with this guy's attitude. Jungkook hated extroverts. He thought they were too loud and this boy was clearly one. Getting annoyed, he simply wanted him to leave.
The boy probably noticed Jungkook's frown and decided to actually answer Namjoon's questions.
"I'm Kim Taehyung and I'm moving in to the apartment next door. You probably know my flat-mate, Hoseok."
Hearing Hoseok's name, both the boys smiled and nodded in response. Hoseok or who they all called Hobi had been their neighbor for the past five years. They all had grown very close and spent a lot of time at each other's place. Hoseok was probably the only extrovert Jungkook was comfortable around.
Jin entered the room carrying a bowl filled with water, some medicine bottles, bandages and an ice-pack. He sat next to Taehyung and started cleaning his wounds. The medicine was strong and Taehyung felt a burning sensation on his skin making him push Jin away. The oldest knew he alone wouldn't be able to dress the wounds so he asked Namjoon and Jungkook to hold him in place. Taehyung couldn't stop blushing when the two boys tightly held his hands so Jin could apply the medicine.
In just a few minutes, the wounds were cleaned and covered in bandages and the ice pack was put on the swelling on his head.
"Well, I'm actually kinda clumsy and a little dumb..." Taehyung spoke. Seeing their confused expressions, he further added on with a sheepish grin, "The packers and movers dude was not ready to bring my stuff upstairs so I decided to pay him less. He threw all my stuff and drove away without looking back even once. I thought I could manage to take four boxes upstairs at once but oh boy, was I wrong!"
Jin couldn't help but chuckle, he was starting to like this new kid.
Jungkook, on the other hand, couldn't help but get slightly irritated. Taehyung looked like one of those annoying, nosy neighbors who would play loud music till five in the morning. He was in deep thought worrying about his future sleepless nights when suddenly Namjoon shook his arm.
"Hello, Jungkook? You there?"
Jungkook came back to reality and noticed Taehyung smirk. He realized that he was probably staring at him all the while he had zoned out. He surely was giving off some wrong ideas to the new guy.
Luckily, Jin saved him by announcing that he was going to order some lunch and asked them what they wanted.
"Pizza!" They all shouted in unison. "Pizza it is!" Jin smiled and started placing the order.
Jungkook was hungry and that was probably the reason why he was getting annoyed with every little thing around him. He wondered if Taehyung would have been that annoying to him if he wasn't this hungry.
Maybe not.
