When the Rains Changed

*back to present*

"After that, Jungkook realized who was behind him losing all his friends. Jungkook was never bold enough to question or stand up to Junho or any of his other friends. He was just a teenager trying to understand the way the world worked. He felt hurt and betrayed that no one trusted him and especially at what his so called 'best friend' had done. He built a wall around himself and that was it. I wasn't very close to him at that time but we were family friends. Eventually, I became his only friend." Namjoon looked up to see a tear roll down Taehyung's cheek.

The bright aura that the younger always radiated, was gone.

"Hey... Tae... Things are fine now. Jungkook is happy with us!" he leaned forward and took Taehyung's hands in his own.

Taehyung turned away. He didn't want to tell the other about 'the Junho' who was a part of his life a few years ago. It was such an awful coincidence that the monsters in both their lives had a common name.

"Taehyung, stop thinking about it, lets get ice cream after this!" the older squeezed the younger's hands. Taehyung looked up and nodded. A small smile forming on his face thinking about how things were different right now.

Maybe everything wasn't going the way he had imagined between him and Namjoon, yet he knew the other would never treat him the way that monster did. He sighed in relief.

They quickly ate their, now cold, pizza and walked out of the café, making their way towards the ice cream shop where Yoongi worked.

"Oh hey guys!" Yoongi smiled looking at the couple walk in.

"Hi hyung! How are you?" Namjoon asked as Taehyung immediately started scanning the ice cream menu.

"I'm good, what about you two? On a date?" the older asked, laughing when he noticed Taehyung drool over the menu.

"Haha... yeah... um, Tae, what do you want?" Namjoon was also smiling looking at the younger squint his eyes concentrating on the menu. Taehyung looked like he was about to take the most difficult decision of his life.

"I'll have the... um... I don't know! Joonie, you suggest!" he squeaked.

"Uh, alright!" he thought for a while then, "Hmm... how about strawberry and vanilla ice cream with extra sprinkles?" he asked.

Taehyung looked away. Namjoon certainlydidn't know much about him. He sighed and pouted. He couldn't blame him for not knowing his favorites.

"No... I hate those flavors" Taehyung huffed.

"Oh. I'm sorry Tae" Namjoon looked embarrassed.

While they were all talking, trying to decide what to buy, the shop's door opened and Jungkook walked in. Giving a big grin when he saw his friends.

"What's up guys?" he asked.

"We're trying to help Taehyung figure out which ice cream flavor he wants" Yoongi replied resting his chin on his hand and leaning on the counter.

"Kooks, can you suggest something Tae might like?" Namjoon asked with a hopeful expression.

The youngest thought for a moment and then replied, "I think he might like the dark chocolate ice cream with the cherry topping."
