*back to present*

Taehyung sat alone, submerged in the gloom of his room.

The sun had set and the sky outside was littered with bright stars, exactly opposite of how the boy felt.

He felt obscure and empty. Something was suddenly missing.

Another chapter in his life had closed. He wanted to stay optimistic, he reminded himself that tomorrow, a new one would start, but alas, he felt engulfed in loneliness.

He stood up and washed his face. The few splashes of the ice cold water made him feel lighter. He wandered out of the room and felt vaguely uncomfortable as the vivid light of the living room hit his eyes.

Hoseok was sprawled on the sofa, Jimin and Jungkook were squabbling over who would get to sit on the bean bag, both trying to shove the other off. Jimin was stronger than what he exhibited and almost pushed the younger off but the latter was not going to give up easy. He acted as if Jimin had won this little battle and just as the older got comfortable on his victory throne, he pulled the bag right from under him and the older landed on his butt with a squeal. The two stopped fighting when they noticed Taehyung sulking near the window.

"Tae, you alright?" Jin asked walking out of the kitchen with a bowl of stew and placing it on the table.

Taehyung seemed really low, his eyes were lost and unfocused.

He sat down on a chair and all the others gathered around. He looked up and forced a smile. He just wanted this day to get over, he was sure he would feel better the next day.

"I... uh... we broke up" he sighed, fidgeting with his fingers.

"Taetae... uh... what happened?" Jungkook asked keeping his hand on Taehyung's shoulder.

"We weren't... we were not meant to be" Taehyung was on the threshold of a breakdown. He knew the tough part was over but for some reason his mind was just not ready to cheer up.

Jimin pulled Taehyung into a hug, the latter burying his head in the older's chest. Although Taehyung was surrounded by people who loved him, he felt lonely. His eyes gradually started to water and soon he was a tearful mess.

The other boys couldn't bare to see Taehyung cry. They all came together in a group hug as Taehyung's sobbing slowed down. The warmth and comfort he felt radiating from his friends gave him a push. His lonesomeness slowly fading away. Crying out helped.

All the boys gave him words of encouragement. They reminded him again and again that things would soon be alright and that they were all there for him.

'No. I'm not going to cry. I'm not alone anymore... This is not a sad ending, but a happy beginning' Taehyung thought, a small smile creeping up on his face as he blew his nose on Jimin's shirt making the older shriek and the others laugh.

This was truly going to be a happy beginning, not just for him, but for all of them.

a/n:

Well... this is going to be a new beginning for me too!

First of all, I never thought I would make it this far into writing a book, honestly, I just lacked a lot of self-confidence.

But today morning when I opened my account and saw that this book has reached 1.1k reads, I couldn't help but feel ecstatic!

A big thanks to all those who are reading this! I hope you are liking it so far...

Love you all :*

And this time I couldn't afford to celebrate with donuts so I was left to satisfy myself with store-bought cookies and some green tea :P (that makes me feel fancy alright)
