"You are supposed to say 'uno' when you have only one card left, if you don't, then you are supposed to collect extra cards" Jungkook grunted as Taehyung squealed, "NO! You just made that rule up!"
"Taehyung stop arguing over this! That's the whole point of the game! Bringing it down to one/uno card" Hoseok replied trying to explain the rules for the fifth time.
"Nooo! No no NO!" Taehyung started throwing a tantrum like a five-year-old.
"GUYS! Calm down! It's just a game! Actually lets not play this anymore. You kids fight too much!" Jin was angry, well he wasn't exactly scary when he got angry but he managed to get his point across.
Jin, Namjoon, Taehyung, Hoseok and Jungkook were all sat on Hoseok's living room floor. They were playing a game of Uno but it didn't last long as Taehyung kept trying to cheat.
Hoseok abruptly exclaimed, "Let's watch a movie, I heard the new Marvel movie is coming on TV tonight!"
Namjoon's exams were on so he decided to go back to his place and complete revising the last few chapters.
"I think I should go finish studying for tomorrow's paper. It's a tough one. Goodnight guys!"
"Goodnight Joonie!" the boys replied. Taehyung got up to close the door after Namjoon, but noticing the other guys were engrossed in something else, he silently slipped out of the house.
He had something more exciting than a movie in his mind.
Knock-knock
"Oh hey Taehyung! What's up?" Namjoon asked opening the door.
"Uh... I-uh-I... I mean hi!" Taehyung stuttered. At this moment he realized how stupid he was to act on impulse and follow Namjoon to his house. He hadn't really prepared a conversation in his mind and the fact that Namjoon was oblivious to the fact that Taehyung was absolutely smitten over his books, made it much more of a challenge for him.
It had been two weeks since he first saw Namjoon. The man who had written three beautiful novels about love and these books had changed Taehyung's perception on that topic. He realized that 'love' was not just a word but had so much more meaning to it. He had watched every interview and read every article that mentioned anything about the other. He even went to the extent of printing out a poster with Namjoon's photo on it but sadly, he did not have the guts to put it up on the wall. It would have been embarrassing if the others found out. At least that's what he felt.
In the past two weeks, Taehyung had come to realise he liked the author more and more. Every time they were in a room together, he couldn't sit still. He hated it when the other would catch him staring and would just wave back with a cheerful grin. That's not what he wanted. He wanted him to know what he felt but at the same time he didn't want him to find out. He wasn't shy or scared to express the fact that he was possibly Namjoon's biggest fan but he knew he wanted to be more than just a 'fan'. And the consequences of such a confession frightened him.
"Tae... uh... TAEHYUNG!" Namjoon's alarmed voice made Taehyung jump out of his thoughts. He probably looked like an idiot staring at his face with a blank expression.
"Haha... yeah... I'm okay! I just wanted to know if I could help you with revising... I mean, I saw how stressed out you looked... maybe I could help you relax a bit?" Taehyung asked with the most innocent expression on his face, a sudden plan forming in his head. Namjoon laughed awkwardly, "Sure! Come in... I am worried, I keep forgetting points. Maybe you can ask me random questions from here and there and I'll know what I remember and what I don't."
Taehyung wasn't reluctant to hide the huge smile that spread on his face. Just the fact that he could help the man who unknowingly had helped him so much in the past made him giddy with happiness.
Quickly, he followed Namjoon to his small and cozy bedroom. The older sat on one side of his bed and Taehyung sat on the other. A pile of books in between them.
"So, which book should I ask questions from?" Taehyung probed. The older handed him a thick accounts textbook.
"I keep getting confused with the formulas. There are too many to learn!" Namjoon laughed somewhat anxious.
That sound was like music to the younger's ears. The way the dimples formed on his cheeks was something Taehyung couldn't resist from admiring.
"Hmm, so formulas it is. This book looks so boring Joonie, how do you read this stuff?" Taehyung hummed flipping through the pages.
"Uh, I don't know, sometimes it's interesting to understand numbers. These numbers can change lives. Take a few right decisions with them and you're a billionaire. Wrong decisions and you're on the streets."
Taehyung knew this was his chance to make a reference to the older's novels, "Does money matter more to you than love?"
This was the exact question one of the side characters had asked the protagonist.
Namjoon looked a bit taken aback by this question but shook his head. "No, money doesn't matter to me when compared to love." The answer he gave was the same as what he had written as the protagonist's reply.
He wasn't sure if the younger was referring to his book. He never thought any of his friends would read his cheesy novels.
"Can we start the revision?" Namjoon asked, slightly nervous.
"Okay, first question, what's the formula for return on net assets?"
"Current assets minus current liabilities."
"How do you calculate break-even point?"
"Dividing the total fixed costs by price per unit minus the variable cost."
"What is debt-equity ratio?"
"Ratio indicating proportion of shareholder's equity to debt used to finance a company."
"Are you gay?"
