When the Rains Changed

-knock-knock-

"Ahrm..." Taehyung groaned in his sleep.

-knock-knock-

"Hrmph..." Taehyung rolled to the other end of the bed. He could hear someone knocking the door in his dream.

-KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK-

"AH!" Taehyung woke up startled, this time the knocks sounded much more real, he picked up his phone and checked the time.

11:58 pm.

He sat up and waited to see if he was dreaming about someone knocking on his door or if it was happening in reality.

He tried to focus his eyes on the door. The hallway light was switched off so he couldn't see anyone's shadow.

His eyes were starting to droop. Sure that he had dreamt it all, he relaxed and laid back down.

Suddenly, he heard a muffled giggle.

He jolted straight up. Eyes wide in fear as he recalled the horror movie he had watched earlier that day. The one where a haunted doll would hide in the closets of it's victims and kill them at sharp midnight.

The giggle was followed by a sharp "Shush!".

Taehyung pulled his blanket closer to his chest. He was shivering wildly.

He checked the time again, it was midnight.

He took in a sharp breath when he saw the doorknob turn.

He started to cower under his blanket, praying that the flimsy material would somehow protect him.

The door opened at a wretchedly slow pace.

A face lit up by the dull orange glow of candlelight appeared at the doorway.

His sleepy eyes weren't able to recognize the terrifying figure holding the source of light. His mouth opened, a silent scream stuck in his throat, his body no longer under his control.

Suddenly, more figures appeared behind the first one and they all shouted in chorus,

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAETAE!"
