Jon's pov

"Finally done. Geez that took forever." I said, shutting my laptop and pushing my chair away from my desk.

I glanced at my clock. 1:13.

"It took that long?" I asked aloud. "At least homework is done for the weekend." Just as I fell onto my bed, my phone started buzzing. I groaned softly as I let it ring almost a full time through before answering mindlessly.

"Hello?" I asked, trying to keep the irritation out of my voice.

"Did I wake you?" Damian's voice said. I furrowed my brow and sat up.

"Damian? Is everything okay? You never call at this time of night." I looked to my calendar. "Did we have patrol?" I panicked.

"-tt- no Kent." He said. I released a sigh.

"Oh thank goodness. So then, why'd you call?" I quipped.

"I need a reason?" Damian asked. "Maybe I just wanted to hear someone's voice. Or maybe I wanted to annoy you."

"It's one in the morning. Why'd you call?" I repeated, flopping backwards onto my bed.

Damian was silent. Just as I opened my mouth to ask yet again, he answered.

"It's nothing. Never mind. My apologies." He muttered.

"Don't you dare hang up. Obviously it's something. What's wrong?" I asked.

"I don't wish to discuss the matter-,"

"-but you need someone. I get it." I finished.

"I suppose." Damian answered quietly.

"I kinda do too. I got in a fight with my dad earlier." I said. Damian hummed.

"Usual meeting spot?" He asked. I nodded before mentally slapping myself. He can't see idiot.

"See you in fifteen." I said. We hung up the call. I quickly changed out of my sweatpants into a pair of jeans. I grabbed my flannel and leather jacket off the back of my door.

I made sure I had my wallet and phone before I snuck out my bedroom window.

I began flying the quick trip to a place just outside Gotham. Damian and I had found it when we'd first had an issue like this.

I landed behind the old fast food place, making sure no one saw me. Looking around, Damian wasn't in sight just yet. I leaned against the building, going through the argument I'd had with my dad. Things I could've said. Things I shouldn't have said.

I was lost in thought trying to create a comeback to one of dad's comments when I heard a familiar motorcycle engine come to a halt meters away.
