Damian's pov

"Sh-shit." I mumbled as I slid down a wall, clutching my bleeding stomach. Only a few more minutes until my heart would stop.

I felt dizzy and numb. I began violently coughing blood.

Once I'd stopped, I fumbled for my phone in my utility belt. I dialled a familiar number.

I lifted the phone to my ear and wiped ruby red blood from my lips as it rang twice before a familiar voice answered.

"Hey Dami!" My boyfriend greeted. I slightly smiled upon hearing his cheery voice.

"Did ya' finish your mission?" He asked.

"Y-yeah... I did." I managed out.

"Great! I can't wait to see you! It's been almost a week!" Jon said happily.

I jerked in pain. "R-right... listen Jon. Beloved. I need you to listen closely." I said, forcing my eyes to stay open.

"Yeah, what is it? Is something wrong?" He asked. I swallowed.

"Jon I love you. I love you so much. Please don't forget that." I said as a tear slipped down my cheek.

"Yeah I love you too, is everything okay Damian?" Jon asked in concern. I closed my eyes and felt my breathing become slower. My heartbeat slowed, dangerously close to stop beating completely.

"Yeah... yeah everything's fine... I love you beloved..."

"Damian something's wrong. Where are you? I'm coming to get you." Jon said. I heard shuffling on his end.

It's too late for that. I thought. "Just please say it back." I breathed in one large breath.

"I love you Dami, please hang on!" Jon cried. I smiled softly.

"Goodbye Jon..." I let my hand fall with the call still going as my head lolled to the side and I was enveloped in darkness.
