The Element - Loki / Avengers x Reader

"Come on Y/N ! Hit me like I've pissed you off!" Nat shouted whilst sparring with Y/N
"You HAVE pissed me off.." she grunted "you keep moving out the way" Y/N was out of breath.

"That's the point. Your attacker isn't going to give you the chance to hit them or stab them. They're going to move!" Nat was in full on widow mode. She was mean when she was.

Y/N launched herself towards Nat again with the stunt knives drawn and in hand. She circled around Nat before swiping her side, managing to touch her.

"Nice , now try and block me" Nat jabbed towards her with two sticks which she was wildly waving towards Y/N's face. She dodged but stumbled backwards landing flat on her bottom on the rubber training floor.

"Get up" Nat said through gritted teeth whilst marching towards Y/N.
She stumbled to her feet and the two continued to spar for the next hour.

Both were out of breath and sweating. It was a gruelling training session involving gun handling, sword fighting, dagger drawing, nun Chuck throwing and more. It was intense for the both of them. Y/N knew she needed to improve and kept pushing herself further. She wanted to get better. For herself, and for the team.

"Good job today. You have a habit of relying on your powers when you fall down though. Try not to rely on just them." Nat knew that Y/N was dying to use her powers in full swing but she wanted her to understand and feel confident at defending herself should her powers be unavailable.

"I know, you're right. I'll try harder next time. Thanks Nat , see you later" she panted and headed back towards the kitchen to get a bottle of water.

"Lady Y/N ! How are you? I saw you and Nat in the training room earlier. You look like you have come along way with your training !" Thor shouted across the room whilst polishing his hammer.

"Thanks Thor. Are you not on the mission with the boys today?" She replied whilst pulling a cold bottle of water from the fridge.

The team had been called to Manhattan to assist with an incident involving a group of avenger wannabes causing terror. This was beginning to be a regular occurrence.

"I am not, I am off to see lady Jane for dinner." Jane and Thor had reconnected when he came back to Earth a few months ago and have been inseparable.
"Aw how lovely, well have fun" Thor left the room and Y/N crashed out on the sofa and tried to catch her breath.

The tower was quiet which she quite enjoyed after the shouting from Nat earlier.

"When's Steve back?" Nat entered the room looking as fresh as a daisy, she, unlike Y/N had recovered quickly from training. "Shouldn't be much longer. Why?" Y/N replied , still sprawled out on the sofa.

"I'm going to see if he can fit in a few extra laps with you today on your run. I know he's got you wearing a weighted vest now but the extra laps will do you good. Gotta build up that stamina"

Y/N hated the weighted vest. Yes it weighed her down and was helping her with her strength, but it was unbearably warm to wear.
Maybe with the snow still falling it'll cool her down.
"Ugh, really? Even after this morning?" She whined.
"Yes... Tony said full force with training hunny so you're getting military style training now." She smiled whilst making herself a coffee.
"Fine. Hopefully Loki will go easy on me later" she knew of course that wouldn't happen.

"You and Loki seem to be getting real close now huh? Anything I should know about?" Nat wasn't normally one to pry or gossip but you could tell she was intrigued by their new found relationship.
"We're just friends" she smiled.
"Mmhmm, friends kiss each other on the lips do they? And fall asleep in each others arms?" She raised her eyebrows.
"How... how did you know we kissed?" Y/N's cheeks flushed.
"Sweetheart do you live under a rock? The entire tower is dripping in security cameras it's hardly a secret when you're  locking lips with each other in the hallway" Nat teased.
"It was one time. We haven't discussed it since. And if you remember I fell asleep on him because he was comforting me after having a nightmare! I would have done the same if it were you!" She protested.
