The Element - Loki / Avengers x Reader

Two weeks had flown by and the day of the mission came quicker than a flash of light.

Tony called the team into the boardroom to discuss the mission and go over the plans. Much to his annoyance , Fury was also present.
"Thank you for calling the meeting Tony to discuss the upcoming mission. It is important we go through the plan meticulously and ensure that Y/N's safety is priority." Fury spoke
"And thank you for gracing us with your presence my lord" Tony smiled sarcastically, receiving an eye roll from Fury and a chuckle from his teammates.

"Anyway... Y/N how has your training been? Are you up to the standard ?" He asked
"Training has gone well. Loki and Nat have helped me a lot and I feel a lot more confident" Y/N stated. Fury made her feel nervous but she was still angry with him for making her do this mission so that fear was significantly less.
"She's being modest director. She's mastered her new power quicker than we could have possibly imagined. She's gonna do great" nat smiled
"Good. Now , the aim is to lure Zemo and his agents out. We are expecting him to have 4 or 5 with him which were also escapees from their base. We've given them a tip off that Y/N will be down town near the theatres tomorrow night." Fury explained
"Who goes to the theatre on a Monday night ? Why not Friday?" Clint questioned
"Less civilians" Steve replied
"So Y/N you'll be wearing an ear piece so you'll always be able to contact us. There's an alleyway entrance next to the theatre which we are assuming is where they'll try and lead you down. The guys all have their posts given to them so they will all be within a short distance of you. Okay?" Fury looked towards Y/N who was as white as a sheep.
Loki nudged her to reply then she snapped out of her daze
"Y..yes. Okay" she stuttered. Loki and Tony furrowed their brows at her.
"It'll be okay" Loki took her hand in his to reassure her.
"Then that's all settled. We are done here. Let me know how it goes." Fury dismissed himself and the team stood to leave.
Tony placed his hand on Y/N's shoulder
"You got this kid. We will be there with you the whole time" he smiled. She offered a smile in return but still couldn't hide her nerves.
She sighed "thank you. I know it'll be okay"

Night fell and and the next evening came around just as quick. The team began prepping for their mission and Y/N left with Happy to go to the theatre.
"Comms working okay kid?" Said Tony over the device
"I can hear you loud and clear Tony" Y/N replied.

New York at night was usually a busy time for club goers and theatre visitors. As it was a Monday however it was less crowded , making it less likely for any members of the public to get caught up in the drama of the mission.

Happy dropped Y/N off outside the theatre as planned and now there she stood. The bait. Waiting for the predators to arrive.
She shivered feeling the brisk New York evening air against her skin.
She was wearing her suit under her smart jeans and blouse and fitted jacket which fortunately was keeping her toasty.

"Okay Y/N I have eyes on some of the hydra agents. Two men , approximately 6ft tall , dark jackets and dark hair. Opposite you by the coffee shop. You see them?" Steve asked
"Yeah I see them" Y/N replied whilst trying to look nonchalant.

The two gentleman crossed the street and were now heading towards Y/N. Her breath hitched but she stood tall and confident pretending to not have noticed them.
"They're coming" she whispered to her comms.

They were bold and approached her straight away
"Hey what's a pretty lady like you standing out here on your own? Have you been stood up?" One chuckled
Her stomach turned. "No, I am fine thank you" she replied.
The other gentleman spoke up "we're going to a party down the street. Come with us!" His acting was awful. She could see right through his lies.
"No thank you" she replied again remaining calm.
Both gentleman stepped forward, making her step back into the wall behind her. "Sweetheart we weren't asking, you're coming with us" one stood to her side subtly pointing a gun to her side. He gently took her arm and nudged her towards the other gentleman who was now leading them down the alleyway.
