He and Bramble had never faced more impossible odds. They were alone.

"I can handle it." He would tell Shiro-4. As if a lone Hunter to conquer the Splicer threat. One Hunter against a near god: Aksis.

"Get up!" Bramble would yell at Gate as he laid in the snow, letting the Splicers shoot at him. He had given up. Bramble would not be able to get to his body if he did die. Why would he give up?

He wouldn't be enough, that was why. He was outnumbered by the thousands. What could he do?

"Get up!" Bramble would continue to yell at him from cover. He wouldn't. He closes his eyes. This is what he deserved after a lifetime of sin.

He hears the Fallen yell out for another. It was a yell of fear, not a war cry. These yells didn't last long. Sounds of the Void filled Gate's broken receptors, the boom of a scout rifle and the gliding of a Warlock.

He heard another voice this time.

"Get up."

It was him. Mazora, the sacred Warlock.

Mazora picked Gate up and threw to cover next to Bramble. Gate would watch Mazora fight the Fallen. He was skilled, very skilled, as if he were predicting the Vandal's and Dreg's movements. He would take stabs, and immediately counter with a much stronger strike, ignoring the pain. His Void would glow in the blizzard, a light in the endless snow. Gate would finish healing and get up to fight, but the Splicers had already ran away towards a large structure on the bridge. He looks at Mazora.

"You're a fool." Mazora reloads.

"I'm aware. Why did you come after me?"

Gate shivers when the Warlock gives him a look.

"You didn't seem to be in such a solid state, hmm?"

"I'm fine. Can you answer my question? I wouldn't expect you of all people to follow me."

Mazora just looks at him, he then opens his mouth to speak, but a loud siren interrupts him.

They both look to the large structure the Splicers fled into: a Siege Engine. Hundreds of Dregs flow from it as it barrels towards them.

"What the hell is that?" Gate begins to feel more fear.

Mazora begins to simply walk towards it, firing at the Dregs as they came towards him.

"Don't stand there!" Bramble tells Gate.

Gate shakes his head, reloads his hand cannon, and runs after Mazora.

Mazora jumps aboard the Engine and begins to fight the Splicers on it. Gate jumps up after him, following the bodies until he finds a large captain at the top. The Captain yells and runs towards Gate. Gate rolls back, summoning his Golden Gun. He disintegrates the Captain with just a few shots.

Mazora stands nearby, watching.

"Not bad. We should probably get this thing moving." Mazora fires at the engine a few times, overloading it.

"Are you crazy? The bridge ends you know."

"Oh I know."

The Engine barrels towards the end of the bridge.

Gate watches Mazora take a step off of the Engine as it nears the edge. Gate has no choice but to jump after him. They both land on a small island, and watch the Siege Engine fall into the cold ocean. They both watch it sink.

"Why did that seem so easy for you?" Gate asks.

"If you just stop, and think, and watch, and listen, and learn, you can get past the hardest of challenges."

"That so?" Gate and Mazora descend into a cave, leading into a Warmind Vault.

They walk into a massive room, with a large flight of stairs leading into a huge structure.

"We're close."

"What should we expect?"

Mazora looks at Gate.

"I don't know. Remember to stay focused. Think about what's going on."

They both enter the large structure, and jump down into a dark hole. The room was dark, and the only light was a red glow from above. Aksis.

Aksis roars and awakes, also awakening the power and lights in the structure. He constructs his cyborg body and glares at the two challengers.

He notes that Mazora is in the room. He remembers him.

Aksis quickly teleports behind them. Mazora and Gate both dive out of the way, going to opposite sides of the room. Aksis begins to fire at them, while also summoning his legions. He roars again.

Gate fights the Splicers quickly. He looks over at Mazora, who kills a red Servitor.

"Catch!" He throws a large red object at Gate, a bomb.

Both Mazora and Gate throw their bombs at Aksis, stunning him greatly. Aksis roars at them once again, throwing SIVA mites at Mazora, trapping him, paralyzing him.

Gate freezes for second, but quickly gets into action. He fired a well aimed Golden Gun shot at Aksis, hitting him hard on the head. Aksis turns around and begins to crawl towards Gate quickly.

As Gate hides behind a pillar, Aksis stands behind. He speaks in Eliksni language, taunting Gate. His voice was terrifying, he was no longer Fallen. He was something else. He was something Gate had to destroy.

Gate fires another Golden Gun shot at Aksis, then runs down into the middle of room towards another SIVA Servitor. He tears it open, pulling out the SIVA Cores. Aksis recovers and begins firing at him again. Gate throws the SIVA Core towards Mazora, which clears up the mites a large amount. Gate grabs another bomb, only for Aksis to grab and throw him across the room.

However, Mazora was free, and a Nova Bomb finds it's way barreling towards Aksis. Gate uses the opportunity to throw another bomb at him, stunning him once again. This causing him to temporarily slump over, opening up his large back. Gate grabs and bomb and quickly climbs onto his back, slamming the bomb inside him. Aksis roars as he convulses in place, and Mazora throws more Nova Bombs at him, Gate jumps into the air and Blade Barrages the Archon Prime.

Aksis regains his body and slams the ground, throwing away the Guardians. He reaches into the air and begins casting SIVA in the air. Mites begin to form around Gate and Mazora. Gate, without hesitation, runs towards the danger, climbing onto Aksis and aiming his Golden Gun at his skull, firing multiple times, until he SIVA mites faded away. Aksis yells out and falls over, defeated.
