Tla'auc appears in the Dark Tower. He looks around his fortress, given to him as part of his three wishes. A glorious home for him and whoever follows him.
As he admires, he here's a voice.
"We hope that you can use our gifts...effectively."
It was them. Tla'auc gets a small shiver in his spine.
"Of course, Witness!"
"Let us give you one last complementary gift..for you."
Taken creatures appear around Tla'auc, all bowing before him, his army. His Taken.
"Witness! May I ask for one last wish??"
"Tell us what you desire."
"A weapon...." Tla'auc growls, smiling menacingly.
Echo, Gate, Dolos, Brutus, and Kanya stand at the now erected bridge, leading to the Dark Tower. Already, they can see the Taken pouring out of its entrance, charging towards them.
"Any plan?" Echo, the one usually has the plan, asks Dolos.
Dolos thinks for a moment.
"We can split up."
"Make up your mind on who because those Taken are coming quick."
Gate summons his Golden Gun, firing at the Taken to buy some time.
"Let Brutus, and I ascend the Tower, we can fight the foolish Cabal."
"You sure? Didn't seem to work out fighting Frederick alone, hmm?" Echo comments.
"Trust me." Dolos looks over at Brutus. "Do you want to come?"
"You never had to ask." Brutus smiles under her helmet.
Dolos and Brutus run ahead of Echo, Kanya, and Gate.
Brutus runs up ahead, summoning her large Burning Maul and slamming it on the ground. The Taken Thrall sprinting at her disintegrated as the flames consumed them. Both her and Dolos begin to climb the Tower rapidly, reaching an opening to the inside.
Echo and Gate both take cover at one of the pillars of the bridge, with Kanya firing a well placed Tether.
Echo looks at Gate.
"You're not the only one to feel it." He puts his hand on Gate's shoulder.
Gate looks at him. They nod to eachother, before going to fight.
Dolos and Brutus drop into a large chamber of the Dark Tower, it was completely empty.
"You'd expect there to be at least a Taken Knight, hmm?" Brutus comments.
"I have a feeling it could be something much bigger." Dolos replies as they search the room.
"Where do you think the Cabal is hiding?"
"It's a tower, Brutus. He's most likely at the top."
"Oh." Brutus chuckles at herself, feeling a small amount of embarrassment. She jumps down a platform, barely making the jump. As she recovers, she comes face to face with a statue, which startled her.
Brutus yells out from being jumped by this statue. Dolos runs over, instinctively, naturally.
The statue was that of Delilah. She was on her knees, pleading, begging...for forgiveness. Just like Frederick, she turned to stone.
"It's Delilah." Dolos says.
"Who's she?"
"It's who Gate and I were looking for."
"Guess you found her then?"
"I guess so." Dolos immediately feels worse for Gate.
Gate, Echo, and Kanya had pushed their way into the tower's entrance, defeating hundreds of Taken.
The voice of Tla'auc echoes in the chambers:
"You all are fools! I never wanted to fight any of you! I only want the Lumiere!"
"You won't get him!" Gate yells back, even if Tla'auc didn't hear him. He wasn't going to take his friend. Gate jumps in the air, throwing a Blade Barrage at the Taken, the chambers were clear, for now.
"They look like they're...retreating." Kanya comments, watching acolytes run away.
"Why? Taken don't run." Echo replies.
"Should we go after them?"
"I don't know. Could be a trap."
Dolos and Brutus reach a staircase, climbing up it to reach the top chambers of the tower, hundreds of feet up.
It was empty, nothing. But Dolos felt off. So much that he looked off too.
"You right?" Brutus asks him.
"Yes. Why?"
"Don't know, yo-"
The walls crack, the floor begins to give out. The tower shakes.
"Thank you, Lumiere, for bringing yourself to me!" Tla'auc materializes infront of them.
Dolos charges up his hands with Pure Light, but the walls in front of them break open, revealing an abomination of the Darkness. A Taken being created by only the power of the Witness.
"Behold! Your doom!" Tla'auc dematerializes away.
The Abomination roars in their faces, swinging it's tentacles around.
"What do we do?!"
"Let me fight it alone. Please."
"Hell no! I'm not leaving you."
Dolos turns around and uses the Light to push the Abomination away. He looks back at Brutus.
"Please. Go with the others."
Brutus puts her hand on Dolos' helm.
"Kick that thing's ass. Please."
"I'll try." Dolos puts his own hand on her helmet, without a thought.
Brutus turns around and runs down the stairs to regroup.
The Abomination climbs back up, grabbing Dolos with it's tentacles and climbing up the tower.
Tla'auc materializes in the middle chambers, where Delilah sat. He wished he didn't have to say it, but the armor seemed to be weakening him. But why?
As he is in thought, Echo, Gate, and Kanya appear before him.
"By the Witness...you are all thorns in my side."
"Give up." Echo demands.
"Of course.." Tla'auc laughs, charging them. Echo quickly throws out Stasis towards his knees, but sense he was shielded by Darkness, it did nothing.
Gate fires a quick Golden Gun shot, but Tla'auc deflects it with a large shield. The shot goes through Gate's shoulder, throwing him down the platform.
Tla'auc rams into Kanya, sending her flying across the chamber. He then attempts to backhand Echo, however, his hand hits that of an immovable object.
Echo, enhanced in Glacial Light, stares down Tla'auc as spectral wings appear behind him. Tla'auc looks back in fear.
Echo pushes Tla'auc back with the force of a god, and ascends into the air.
"You have no purpose to exist any longer!" He yells.
Tla'auc is frozen in fear, and is quickly frozen solid by Echo, just from a single flick of Echo's wrist. Echo flies towards the frozen Cabal, completely shattering him into pieces. Tla'auc is gone.
Echo's power fades, and he falls down in exhaustion. Kanya runs back up the platform to help him. But Gate? Gate was still in the lower levels. He had found Delilah..
Echo and Kanya jump down to see Delilah. They see what she had become.
Gate was just sitting on his knees in silence... why?
