Echo's investigation had led him to a shoreside town in Savona, Italy. He had followed footsteps, rumors, and loads of intel to find Tla'auc, and all of them lead here.

There were no real signs of Tla'auc. Most of the buildings and towers had obviously been destroyed, either from the collapse or from time itself. The color of their roofs had dulled, as well as the bright blue water, which was now grey. Sometimes Echo wishes he could see these great places in their prime.

He kneels on a nearby cliff, looking down at the town, looking for any sign, anything. He decides to walk down for a closer look.

The city up close was just as dark and gloom as when Echo was in the cliffs. Windows shattered, cars wrecked, skeletons scattered throughout the streets. It was sad, but that's what happened in the Collapse, Echo knew this.

He walks onto the docks of the town, looking out at the foggy sea.

Frost materialized in front of him.

"Why do you do this to yourself, Echo?"

"It's not your concern."

"I think it is." Frost gets in his face, then backs away.

"It's my responsibility."  Echo looks at her.

"That doesn't mean you shouldn't get help. You shouldn't hunt for this Cabal by yourself, you don't know what he's capable of."

Echo looks down in realization.

"What do I do?"

"Ask for help Echo. Call Recon, maybe call Cayde, I know he kind of isolated himself, but I'm sure he'll help."

"Just stop Frost. I have to do this, you know that."

Frost looks at Echo, saddened. Echo looks back at her, able to catch the bolt of a Scorn's rifle in the corner of his eye before it hit her.

She exploded, causing him to step back. At first, he didn't move. No acceptance. He felt the life leave his own body. The Scorn were quick to swarm him, and able to hold him down. He didn't fight back. Why should he?

They placed gauntlets over his hands, they looked like something from a Pyramid. They probably were with his luck. As they carried him away, he looked back at the shattered pieces of Frost, regret and guilt instantly overcoming him.

The Scorn dragged him to an old local cathedral. Sure enough, Tla'auc, a disciple of Calus and the Witness itself, awaited him.

"Drop him."

The Scorn dropped Echo infront of Tla'auc. Tla'auc was covered in a new set of armor, wielding gauntlets just like the ones Echo wore, but why?

Echo looks up at him. Tla'auc swiftly grabs him by the head.

"Do you think me of a fool?! An imbecile?!" He yells in Echo's face.

Echo has nothing to say.

"Silent. Typical." Tla'auc kicks Echo in the head. "What do you think you were going to do before you found me?"

"I was going to tear you apart." Echo lifts his head.

"Really? Really?!!" Tla'auc yells in his face again. "Perhaps I should tear you apart myself."

Tla'auc aggressively picks up Echo, raising him up and beginning to pull him apart. The Scorn watched as Echo yelled out.

The sound of Void Light itself deafened the Scorn's ears. They began to get quickly cut down by a Voidwalker, Kanya.

The Scorn grabbed their guns, but Kanya's spectral blades cut through them with swiftness. She moved towards Tla'auc, leaping into the air to cut down him. Tla'auc smirked, throwing Echo at Kanya. They both ran into eachother, falling on the ground.

"Go on, fight me!" Tla'auc yells.

Kanya looks back at Echo. She could tell he had lost Frost. You probably could too.

"Get up. We're leaving."

Echo tries his best to get up, Kanya helped him.

"If you leave this place, the Scorn will overtake you." Tla'auc exclaims.

However, they were already gone, running down the beach to the west, looking for a place to lay low, as Kanya's ship was in the city.

"Where's your ship?" They both ask eachother.

"In the cliffs." Echo says. Kanya tells of the city.

"Where in the cliffs?"

Echo points up towards the cliffs, but the Scorn were already on his ship, using it to snipe at them.

"Aw hell. What now?"
