With a name destined to get her into trouble, Sapphire Black knew that the only way to live life was by taking risks and never looking back. Her brother, family and friends at her side were all that she needed to make it through the poor handout sh...

Sapphire Black liked her sleep. It was something that she didn't like to be interrupted. As long as she had enough sleep, she was happy (well, half-happy) to get up in the morning and head to breakfast. She wasn't that big of a morning person but as long as she'd gotten sleep, she was bearable.
So, you can imagine how she felt when she was violently awoken by the screams of Ronald Weasley claiming her father had broken into the Gryffindor tower with a knife.
The way people looked at her as she asked Ron if he was okay almost frightened her. It was as though they wished her to be in Azkaban too. It had gotten to her, despite the fact of who she was not bothered her since she was eleven years old.
They'd spent the night in the Great Hall that night. Her friends had surrounded her to avoid the stares of other people, something she was thankful for at the moment. Fred and George had practically glared anyone down who even thought about looking at her.
After that, things in the castle got more extreme. Filch hadn't even bothered the Trouble Trio since the matter, too busy up and down the corridors to board anything up (even tiny cracks in the walls — even though Sapphire doubted her father could fit through them). The portrait of Sir Cadogan had been fired and the Fat Lady was back.
"She's so nervous," Sapphire mentioned to Alicia as they left the common room. "I didn't know a portrait could be that nervous. She glares at me too. I don't like her."
"She's a painting, Saph, leave her be," Alicia replied carefully.
"She's not the only one though," Sapphire added.
She glanced around at the corridor, catching a group of chatting first years who were looking at her with concern and an almost scared look. One of them glared accusingly at her.
"For the last time, it has nothing to do with me," Sapphire groaned as the six Gryffindor's first year stared at her before running away.
To ruin her mood even more, Alex hadn't been able to do anything to help BuckBeak and he was due to be executed. It saddened Sapphire for multiple reasons: firstly, it wasn't the bird's fault, it was Draco's and secondly, Sapphire liked Hagrid and he was super upset.
She and Hagrid didn't have the friendship that the Golden trio had but he liked joking around with her and having Sapphire in Care of Magical Creatures.
