Sapphire Black did not sleep.

Alex had stayed with her, though she could see her brother dozing off until his own snores woke up him every so often. She didn't know why he was so insistent on watching her, it wasn't like anything but nightmares was going to happen to her.

The female twin lay in her bed, her body restless as she tossed and turned, caught in a whirlpool of discomfort that felt like it would never end. What seemed like a long, sleepless night had barely spanned two hours, yet every passing moment was an agonizing battle.

She still felt as if invisible flames were licking at her skin, the heat still intense but easing just slightly, enough to allow a flicker of relief in the oppressive warmth. Her head pounded relentlessly, a steady thrum that seemed to echo her internal chaos. Each throb was accompanied by a wave of nausea, twisting in her stomach.

"I'm going to owl Snape," Alex mumbled.

"Why?" Sapphire whispered.

"Look at you...you need help. I know he was brewing some dreamless sleep and healing potions," Alex said quietly.

He gave her a small smile before standing up to move to the door. As he lifted his head up, he saw their cousin standing there. He should have been asleep with the others but it was no surprise he wasn't.

"Oh, Harry," Alex realised, stepping back. "You want to talk to Saph?"

"Yeah," Harry replied quietly. "Is she alright?"

"She's awake, ask her yourself," Alex hummed. "I need to send an owl."

Alex moved around Harry and disappeared down the staircase as Harry awkwardly sat down on the sofa his cousin had previously been sitting on.

"Hey Hazza," Sapphire said with a yawn. "Can't sleep either?"

"No," Harry admitted. "You're sick...?"

"I don't know," Sapphire sat up, leaning her back against the headboard. "I don't sleep much and trying to cope with your emotions and Voldemort isn't that easy."

"Did...the dream...were you the snake?" Harry asked slowly.

"No," Sapphire wrapped her arms around herself. "I was watching but I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything but watch. I don't even know If I'd have left that dream if Fred hadn't woken me up."
