Sapphire knew that she was not glass.

She didn't need people walking around her on eggshells like she'd start crying at any moment because she knew how to hold herself together. Sure, she'd often keep her emotions on the inside when she thought there'd be inconvenience but they were there...just dulled.

For her entire life, she was conscious about not making people sad. It seemed harder now, her mind automatically went to analysing everything rather than ways to make people last. The humour was still there, she knew that, but it seemed harder.

"What did you do to your hair?"

"What? It's not permanent Uncle Remus!" Sapphire exclaimed.

As she sat down at the dinner table, Remus Lupin immediately noticed the change. She had her hair just resting on her shoulders, in contrast to the longer brunette locks, and she's put red highlights through it as well.

"I can change it back at any moment, that's the beauty of being a Metamorphmagus," Sapphire countered. "Don't you like it?"

"It's just...different," Remus admitted."Unlike you."

"It makes you look badass!" Nate commented with a beam.

"You're an influence on him, Sapphire, do you know that?" Remus hummed. "He was quiet, never out of book and now he's argumentative—"

"I'm not trying to be," Nate whined.

Sirius gave Remus an amused look as he shook his head. Sirius knew his friend was protective over Nathan, especially since losing Maria Fortescue (Nate's mother), and he couldn't blame him. Nate was a sensitive soul who'd just been learning how to stand independently.

Sapphire sat at the end of the table, meaning she could see everything that was going on. On her left was her dad and Sirius, with Nate, Dora and Alex the other side. Up the table were the Weasleys and Hermone.

"So, hoping to be head boy Alex?" Mr Wealsey questioned. "I know you're a prefect!"

"Oh, I'd hate to be head boy," Alex scrunched his nose up. "No, I'm aiming for Quidditch captain. Cedric will be head boy, no doubt."

"I don't know how people do that job," Sapphire complained. "Sounds boring."

"You don't have to worry about it, they'd never give it to you," Alex snorted. "I do bet on you getting Quidditch Captain if not Angelina Johnson."
