"I didn't realize Gemma was seeing Potter." Reed laughed as I hit the locker room with him and the rest of the team. I was guzzling some water so I could respond right away though I made sure to convey my annoyance with my eyes. He of course laughed.

"I have a feeling your girl put her up to it. She and Brynn. She's definitely not seeing Potter, not getting anywhere near him." I growled, causing him to laugh just as Potter waltzed over.

"What was that little hottie doing wearing my jersey? I thought she was with one of you." He motioned between Reed and me. I swear I was snarling.

"Shut up, man. You know Eden is mine." Reed shook his head before standing and heading over to one of the trainers.

"So, she's available then?"

"You're fucking stupid if you think you can get anywhere near her." I stood up quickly to show him how serious I was. Of course, he laughed, waving me off and walking away. Potter was an ass, he used up women and cast them aside. I'd seen him do it countless times with women waiting after games, in every city.

I shook away the anger and prepared to return to the pitch, ready to kick some ass and get Gemma alone to rip that jersey off her perfect body. Everything had been so easy lately, hanging out, laughing and talking. We were spending platonic time together, dinners, lunches, whenever we could and I was happy with it. Of course we flirted, it was natural. Our chemistry was off the charts. I couldn't say it hadn't crossed my mind, thinking about having her underneath me. I wanted it, badly, but I wasn't going to push. 

I couldn't help the caveman in me came out seeing her in Potter's jersey, I saw how Eden and Brynn looked, they knew exactly what they were doing. I'd have to send them flowers later if it all worked out. The second half of the match went well. We dominated and I couldn't ask for a better performance from my teammates or myself. My chest was puffed out with pride and excitement knowing I was going to spend time with Gemma. I had no plans to push or pressure her for anything more than her time, despite my display of possessiveness. I wasn't that kind of guy, but I sure as hell hoped she might want that.

After I spoke to a few of the media, I got a shower and changed into a comfortable t-shirt and jeans. The locker room was already nearly cleared out by the time I gathered my things. I didn't even see Reed anywhere. I grabbed my bag, slinging it over my shoulder, heading out. I was hoping to find the girls, or at least Gemma. I was happily surprised to find her at the end of the hall, leaning against it, head down looking at her phone. She was by herself. Something swelled in my chest, that she was there waiting for me while the others had already gone, at least I assumed.

"Gem." I called out to her as I walked closer. She looked up, her emerald eyes meeting mine and a smile began to overtake her face. My heart was squeezing in my chest. Seeing her, waiting for me. "Have you realized what a mistake you made with that jersey?" I teased, tugging at the sleeve.

"I didn't pick it out." She was defensive with a laugh.

"Where did those trouble makers go?" I asked, leaning against the wall beside her.

"Oh, they all took off." She waved her hand around nervously. I couldn't help the smirk, I knew she was replaying my promise from earlier in her head.

"So, I get you all to myself?" I couldn't help but tease as I leaned down, whispering in her ear. She swallowed with a gulp before nodding. I couldn't take it any longer, reaching for her hand and intertwining our fingers. "C'mon, let's go."

The ride to my apartment was relatively quiet. I was bouncing on nerves, not wanting to push the limits of our new friendship relationship but desperately wanting to have her underneath me again. Once we made it, Gemma turned to me with a sweet smile. As soon as I opened her door, she reached for my hand this time, taking it and holding as we made our way up.
