Epilogue

One year later

Gemma

"Give me that little squishy!!" I squealed reaching my hands out toward Eden and the little baby boy strapped to her chest. Reed and Eden had welcomed their son, Nash at the end of October. He was adorable with the chubby legs and puffy cheeks. We all were obsessed. Brynn most of all considering she was now baking a little baby of her own.

"You get five minutes then it's my turn." She barked out with a pout, I couldn't help but laugh.

"I hate being up here so far away, I like being right next to the action." Eden groaned as she manuevered little Nash out of the contraption he was in, then handing him off to me. As soon as he was in my arms I had to kiss his little cheeks. "I'll gladly hold onto this little guy so you can go down there." I nodded toward the field where the guys were preparing to take to the pitch for the final game of the conference finals. A win would mean going for the MLS cup and a loss, well that meant the season was done. Either way, we were proud of our guys. A year of marriages, babies, moves and celebrations and they still gave it their all, in all aspects and we were quite lucky to have them.

"She's not going to get that far away from her baby." Brynn snorted, grabbing some snacks from the buffet in our luxury box. "Just wait mama to be, you'll see." Eden threw a burp cloth at her.

"How was Bennett this morning?" She turned toward me, handing off a paci for baby boy.

"I didn't get to see him. He was up and off before I was out of bed, I feel bad that I missed him." I explained, snuggling closer to Nash and taking in the magical baby smell.

"Reed was doing all sorts of weird superstition things, apparently rubbing our sons head is one of them now too." She leaned over kissing him on the forehead.

"It's been five minutes, hand him over." Brynn stood in front of me. Her belly popped a few weeks ago and she was massive. We'd all joked she was having twins and one was just hiding during the ultrasound. The look on her face was priceless.

"Brynn, baby, share." Tate stepped up giving her a quick peck on the cheek before reaching down and snatching Nash right out of my arms. I humphed at him, that traitor. He was more of a baby hog than Brynn!

"I heard there's a party in here!" Bennett's Dad announced as he entered the suite. I was surprised he came up here with us, knowing he could be closer to the action. The suite was obviously safer and more comfortable for Eden and the baby, and we couldn't leave her alone. With Nash in Tate's arms and Brynn gushing over him, I made my way over to Paul, Bennett's Dad and greeted him. Over the last year, we'd grown close. He was present quite a bit due to the investment Bennett had made and also the fact that I was assisting with the marketing. Eriksen Solutions had contracted with Paul to work on Marino's restaurant and a few other ventures, unbeknownst to us both at the time, I was the new marketing associate assigned to him. We all had a good laugh about it when we first found out but it's been nothing but amazing since.

"How's the boy?" He nodded toward the field.

"He was fine last night. I didn't get to see him before he left this morning though. How are you? I didn't realize you were joining us."

We chatted back and forth for a bit before he excused himself to speak with the others, specifically Tate and Hugh. I found myself munching on some of the h'ordeuvres just as the game got started. I was a ball of nervous energy, hoping that they did well enough to advance. Bennett always tried to play it cool when it came to each game, but I knew deep down he wanted to win this more than anything.
