As she adjusted her outfit in the mirror, she couldn't help but be amazed. The clothes were surprisingly cheap, yet they looked so stylish and put together. She had always assumed that looking fashionable required a lot of money, but this outfit proved otherwise.
She smoothed down her argyle cardigan, appreciating how soft and warm it felt. The wide-legged jeans fit just right, and the black cropped top balanced the look perfectly. Her high-top sneakers, a simple but classic choice, made her feel both comfortable and confident.
With a small smile, she grabbed her phone and bag, taking one last glance at herself before heading out. Maybe tonight wouldn't be so bad after all.
She quietly slipped out of the house, careful not to make a sound. Everyone inside was too busy with their own things to notice her absence, and she preferred it that way. The last thing she wanted was to deal with her stepmother or step-siblings before heading out.
The cool evening air greeted her as she stepped outside. She took a deep breath, adjusting the strap of her bag before making her way toward the party. It was strange-she wasn't the type to go to events like this, but for some reason, she didn't mind this time. Maybe it was because Gorya had insisted. Or maybe... just maybe, she was starting to let people in.
As she reached the corner, she spotted a car waiting for her. Inside, Gorya waved excitedly, signaling for her to hurry up. She picked up her pace, jogging slightly before slipping into the seat beside them.
"Wow, you look amazing!" Gorya complimented with a bright smile.
"Thank you," she replied softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
Kaning, sitting beside Gorya, turned to her with an interested look. "Hi! I'm Kaning, nice to finally meet you!"
She nodded politely. "Nice to meet you too."
Kaning examined her for a moment before suggesting, "You know, if you open your hair, you'd look even more stunning."
She instinctively reached up, touching the loose strands near her face. "I... I think it's fine like this."
Gorya, however, nudged her playfully. "Kaning's right! Just try it!"
With both of them insisting, she sighed in defeat and pulled out her hair tie, letting her hair fall freely. It was straight with just the slightest wave, catching the light with a soft shine.
Gorya clapped her hands. "See? I told you!"
Kaning grinned. "Yep, definitely better."
She glanced at her reflection in the window, feeling a bit self-conscious. She wasn't used to this kind of attention, but for once, she didn't mind.
