Jaune Arc: Unlimited Enhancements

Finally, it is time for the initiation to start. Looking at all the students on the cliff, I can see Weiss staring at me menacingly, probably because Pyrrha has been hanging around me since breakfast. We even took our weapons together, and she tried to strike up a conversation with us but was turned down by Pyrrha politely.

Everyone was psyching themselves up since they wanted to do well, especially groups of people who wished to receive full scholarships. I am one of those people in that group, but I'll just let my results speak for themselves. I may not have the most refined swordplay or spearmanship, but I am good at killing Grimm.

"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest," said Ozpin. He was evaluating all the students not only from their preparedness but the attitude they have toward their future career.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of 'teams.' Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today," said Glynda. She really does have a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to the students.

I can see Ruby waiting for the announcement to see if I got it right.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So, it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well," said Ozpin. But I can see the playful smirk on his face. It was very subtle, but it is undeniably there.

"That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years," added Ozpin. This made Ruby's eyes go wide. She looked at me, and I smiled and gave a bit of a wink. Just a little bit of teasing. She is cute when flustered.

"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die. You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" added Ozpin once more. He looked at the reaction of the students, and he saw fear in many of them when the word die was said. He marked them.

He then instructed all of us to stand on the platform to take our positions. You know, Jaune in the show did not have Aura during the start of the initiation, and I seem to be continuing the tradition of not having Aura.

One by one, we were all sent to the Emerald Forest. I did not waste time. While in the air, I made sure to try and spot the hill that Jaune and Pyrrha in the show stumbled upon. I searched for one with a cave and drawings. It did not take long. As I was about to land on top of a tree branch, I saw a spear heading for me. I grabbed it and threw it back in the direction it came from.

I knew who it came from, but I made sure not to make eye contact since I would have failed the mission otherwise. I then leaped from tree to tree in the direction that I needed to head to. I'm not worried about the formation of my partnership with Pyrrha and the formation of RWBY and JNPR.

I know for a fact that Pyrrha would be looking for me since I heard her in the locker earlier making multiple plans to make sure that she and I are partners. It made me smile.

I need to concentrate on completing the missions since the reward is quite good. If I am guessing right, then [Leadership] should be a skill that can help me manage the team and plan strategies. It is one hell of a useful skill I'm going to need.

It took me a few minutes to arrive at the cave that I was searching for. I did not want to waste time. So, I took my spear, activated Blut Arterie, then hurled it inside the cave after making sure there were no cameras around.
