Jaune Arc: Unlimited Enhancements

I have passed the 17th floor countless times during the past month. I have not encountered the Monster Rex known as the Goliath. Lately, there have been rumours regarding a Goliath that was nowhere near its usual height. It is usually around seven metres tall, but lately, it was spotted only being as tall as eight feet. That is a massive decrease in height.

The worst part of the rumour, the Loki Familia were beaten badly by the Goliath. They were not even able to injure it. No matter the skills and magic they used, it did not faze it. However, as powerful as the monster was, it was also rumoured to ignore all adventurers as long as they did not engage it.

Some idiots came close to it to test if the rumours were true, and they were able to confirm it with multiple eyewitnesses. I really have a bad feeling about it. Ever since I set foot in this dungeon, I always felt as if it did not like my presence. And to top it all off, the monsters seemed to target me more than other adventurers when I was in the vicinity.

Right now, I am heading to the 17th floor since I need to pass it to get to the lower levels. I have no choice in that matter. And the moment I set foot on the floor, I heard a very loud and intimidating roar. It was nothing for me, but many of the adventurers became riddled with fear. Paralysed due to the roar.

"Son of bitch! I knew it! That thing was not attacking any of the adventurers because it was after me! Why? I don't get it. Why does this dungeon seem to have a hatred toward me?" I said out loud. Thankfully, there was no one nearby, or they might think I was insane.

I did not even have to look for the Goliath. It found me. It literally passed by countless adventurers and went straight to me. Yup, this thing was definitely after me. A dodged its attack. It was faster than any monster I have encountered, but nothing I couldn't handle.

I was curious about the stats of the Goliath. So, I used [Observe], and I was shocked.

Excuse me! This is the 17th floor! When Hestia and Hermes were in the dungeon, it only produced a Level 5, but it created a Level 8 just to try and kill me! No wonder Ais and the Loki Familia were wiped out. This was way out of their pay grade.

The Mega Goliath charged at me, and I dodged and weaved its attacks. Sure, it was strong, but to test out its strength, I blocked its attack with my arm without the usage of [Blut]. It did nothing. Now, I knew how stupid I was for not getting [Magic Resistance] sooner. It was the only reason the Manticore was able to pierce me slightly.

Since I have a pure physical opponent right now, it was a chance for me to get the [Hand-to-Hand Combat Mastery]. Maybe this would be able to help me increase it to an F-rank.

Blow for blow, I was matching the Mega Goliath. I was able to move much faster than it. I've punched the thing in the face and blew it up, but it would regenerate so quickly. I realised earlier just how much I have not trained a body with a rank of S. However, the more time I stayed in the dungeon, the more I realised how much more I could push my body.

This fight with the Mega Goliath is just my way of testing how far I could go without using any skills. I needed a proper assessment. So, I traded blows with the Mega Goliath. It blasted me energy blast multiple times, but it got negated every time due to my [Magic Resistance].

With every punch I landed, the slower the regeneration of the Mega Goliath. Nevertheless, it was still a very powerful regenerative ability. This time, I started to increase the strength of my punches. I am forcing my body to tense much more before I deliver my punch. It was glorious!

Even without [Mana Burst] or [Blut Arterie], I was able to fling the Mega Goliath over ten meters! I gave chase. Before it would drop to the ground, I punched it again and repeated the same actions over and over. I was relentless.

Eventually, the regeneration of the Mega Goliath no longer worked. So, I gave it one last kick to send it flying. Its lower half was obliterated.

When I arrived where the Mega Goliath landed, I saw it starting to dissipate. It dropped its magic core and its hide. I remember the Black Goliath skin was a critical item for Bell's survival against the Juggernaut. Maybe I could ask Hephaestus to make me something out of the hide, and I could give it to someone back home.

With the fight done, I continued to journey to the deeper levels. It was the best place to continue farming for EP and eventually complete my mission in this world, reaching the 100th floor. I wonder what I would find there?

I did not know it yet, but I was being watched by Loki Familia, who was surveying the 17th floor to search for any weakness they could find in the Mega Goliath. They did not know that it would be taken down by someone else before they could even recover from their injuries.

When I reached the 18th floor, I saw all the adventurers there hiding with Rivira. They did not want to leave and were cautious. It seems the effect of the roar of the Mega Goliath scared them to inaction. I could not blame them. The thing was a Level 8 monster, it was not something they could have taken down when one of the strongest Familia executives was knocked down by it.
