I have finally figured it out! I can't believe it took this long for me to be able to figure it out! I might be able to learn things quickly, but I am still a bit of an idiot. I've been trying to figure out how the Manticore I encountered was able to pierce my skin. I tried to pierce my skin with Long Reach while using Blut Arterie but to no avail. Then, I thought about adding magic to my blade. I used [Heat-up], a One-Circle magic that uses magical energy to heat the blade of any weapon. It pierced me.
Grimm are constructs made from solidified magic energy! Their attack on me is considered magic. The Manticore was able to slightly pierce me because I have no [Magic Resistance]! Thankfully, my body was strong enough to withstand it.
Now, I have been looking through the {Mall} for [Magic Resistance]. I must find one. I am heading to a world full of magic users. Sure, my body would be able to withstand their magic, but I don't want to take any chances. There was nothing in the [Skills] section of the {Mall}.
If not the [Skills], then I'll check the [Abilities] section. I continued checking, and I finally found it! It was a bit expensive, but it is something important. If something like a Manticore were able to harm me, then those with more magical energy or those who are well-versed in magic would be serious trouble for me.
[Magic Resistance: Grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this Skill cancels the spells altogether. Note: Once bought, the rank would be tied to Spirit ranking. The higher the Spirit, the stronger the resistance.]
That's actually great! It is similar to my other abilities; the rank is dependent on the three main attributes of Mind, Spirit and Body. It is also quite affordable. I did not hesitate to buy it. I don't want to die because I was cheap with my EP. Saving EP would be absolutely pointless if I died.
Nevertheless, I checked my {Abilities} tab to check what the [Magic Resistance] would be with an A-rank Spirit.
[Magic Resistance: Grants protection against magical effects. This ability cancels the spells altogether. Additionally, due to one's unwavering resolve, one can divert the magic elsewhere if negation is too risky, making it impossible to be hit even by magic from the Age of Gods. Magic attacks that cover a wide area are pushed aside. However, attacks of Divine Nature are still effective.]
Well, now, that's more powerful than I thought it would be. It was worth its 10,000 EP price tag. However, I am not done shopping yet. I also bought [Eternal Arms Mastery] for another 10,000 EP in case I was intoxicated, confused or something, I would still be able to fight properly.
[Eternal Arms Mastery: Prevents degradation of fighting skills when under the effect of mental hindrance. At this rank, regardless of one's mental state, they will be able to fully display the combat techniques they have mastered. Combat experience that has been engraved into one's body from excessive training.]
But I was still not done! I needed something else. And I found it! It is an insane skill. It cost about 50,000 EP, but it is well worth it. Just being paranoid, and I want to keep myself safe.
[Invictus Spiritus: It is an ability born from emperor Nero's final anecdote. An ability that is used to revive oneself when falling in battle up to three times per month, but it must be prepared beforehand.]
Yeah, okay, I may be a bit too paranoid, but this is about my life! I want to have some way to save myself just in case something unexpected happens, especially since I plan to go to more powerful worlds in the future.
Wow, I can't believe I only wanted to find [Magic Resistance] but ended up buying two other abilities that could save me in the future. Well, one of them is debatable but not necessarily bad.
