New York City

Hook? Peter? What was Emma hiding from me? I sighed and got out of my bed to get dressed. I didn't go back to sleep last night after my dream. I grabbed my backpack and rushed out the door, not even bothering to eat breakfast and greeting the others. I arrived at school and went to my first hour class which was History. I sat down in my assigned seat which was in the back corner of the classroom. Thank God. Mr. Dresdon was at the front of the classroom, talking to a boy who was strangely familiar. I couldn't put my finger on it. I brushed it off and stared down at my notebook. I started to doodle. I suddenly felt a presence by me and I looked up to see the boy. He smiled down at me.

"Is this seat taken?" He asked and I shook my head. He had a British accent. He was tall too with brown hair and beautiful green eyes. I looked back down at my notebook. I really didn't want to talk to him. He sat down in the chair next to me. He gazed over at me. "I'm Peter," My ears perked up at that name. Is this a coincidence? I looked back at him.

"I'm Riley," I spoke with shyness.

"Nice to meet you," Peter smiled and I nodded. I turned away from him and a blush crept its way onto my cheeks. The bell rang and I got my textbook out, opening it up to the chapter we were studying. When class was over, I was relieved that I didn't have to talk to Peter. It was for his own good. I started to head to my locker when a voice called out to me. "Riley!" I turned around and saw Peter running towards me. I turned back around and quickened my pace. "Wait!" I could feel people staring. I turned to face him and he stopped in front of me, out of breath. "Hey."

"Look Peter, I'm sure you're a really nice kid, but you don't want to be seen with me so, I suggest you move along before you get hurt," I was very straight forward. I wasn't used to being overly confident. His smile fell and he frowned.

"Why not?" Peter asked and I sighed.

"Trust me, you don't want to be seen with me. Nobody likes me," I didn't want to tell him my whole life story. He'll find out himself anyways. "You should probably make friends over there where you won't have any trouble," I pointed over to the popular kids who were snickering at us and whispering to their friends. Peter looked confused. I put on a fake smile and walked away from him. School ended with only one beating. I was thankful that Peter wasn't in any of my other classes. I walked out of the building and walked to Central Park where I could be alone. I sat down on a bench and opened up a book that I got at the library. I relaxed and read my book. My world was taken into the novel until I was pulled out of it.

"Well hello," I heard someone greet. I looked up from my reading trance and saw Peter. God damnit. This kid really wants social suicide.

"Did you follow me?" I concluded and he shook his head, sitting next to me.

"You think I'm some sort of stalker?" He said in disbelief. I shrugged.

"I've lived in this city for 10 years. Crazy shit can happen when you least expect it," I quipped and he chuckled at my remark.

"Well, I'm not here to ambush you," Peter promised. "I was just exploring. I still have a lot of the city to cover. I lived over there," He pointed at my building and I smiled.

"I live there too," I started to open up to him which made me nervous. I looked at his eyes and they haunted me. I couldn't put my finger on it, but they were almost recognizable. I looked back down at my book. "So," I awkwardly said. He laughed at my nervousness.

"Whatcha reading?" Peter asked me and I showed him the cover of my book.

"Mortal Instrument," I told him and put it back down. "Where do you come from?"

"Some far off place," Peter teased and I laughed.

"Jersey?" I joked which made him laugh. He shook his head and leaned back on the bench.

"Further," He hinted, pointing it finger at the sky.

"God, please don't tell me you're an alien," I exclaimed and he shook his head in laughter.

"You're clear," Peter vowed and I wiped the fake sweat off my forehead as a joke. Just then, an idea popped into my head. "Hey, why don't' I show you around New York?"

"Really?" He smiled and I nodded with a big grin on my face. I got up off the bench and held out my hand for him to take. He took my hand and something weird happened as he touched me.

"Don't even try," Pan stood against a tree, smiling down at me. Felix shut the cage, locking it.

"For some reason, I always see you on a tree. Why is that?" I teased, laughing and I kicked the cage again.

"I told you to save your energy, love," Pan warned again. "It's enchanted."

"Let me go," I growled, gripping the bars of the cage.

"Sorry, can't. You see when someone breaks my rules, I have to resort to punishment," He explained, bitterly laughing.

"Riley!" My head rose at the mention of my name. Emma stared at me. "I have a plan...And it involved you," I stood still and silent. "You have to get Pan to fall in love with you."

"Jump," He demanded. I shook my head, fiercely.

"So, this is your plan on how to kill me, huh?" I barked to him. His grip tightened. A sword materialized in his other hand and he held it to my throat.

"I don't think I was clear," He growled in my ear. "Jump." He removed the sword from my throat and backed away, slowly. I held my hands up and started to back away. I felt an absence of the ground and stumbled back. No magic means no immortality. I waved my arms in the air and fell back. I screamed as I fell.

"RILEY!" Pan yelled in worry. I somehow latched my fingers to the edge of the cliff. Why is he worried?! My eyes narrowed at the bottom of the waterfall. I shakily looked up to see Pan peeking down at me with the sword still in his hand. I showed no emotion to him. No sign of wanting help.

I came back into reality and Peter was staring at me with worry in his eyes. I noticed that I was still holding his hand and I pulled my hand out of his grasp.

"Let's go," I quietly said and walked off with Peter behind me. We did lots of things. I showed him the biggest sites in the city. It was dark when we got back to the apartment. We walked into the elevator. I pressed my floor and turned to him. "Floor?"

"Actually, same as yours," Peter laughed and I nodded. The elevator doors closed and silence caved in. The doors opened and we walked to our apartment. Peter stopped in front of his which was surprisingly across from mine.

"Well," I awkwardly said. "I had fun today."

"I did too. Thanks for showing me around," Peter looked down at the ground and smiled.

"Bye," I waved and opened my apartment door. I was about to close it when Peter piped up.

"Wait, Riley!" I turned around and waited for a response from him. He leaned forward and kissed my cheek. He pulled away and smiled, cheekily at me. "Night," He opened his apartment door and went inside. I stood still with shock. I walked into my apartment. Henry was on the couch, playing video games while Emma was on the balcony with Walsh, her boyfriend. I rolled my eyes. I never really liked Walsh. Quite frankly, he seemed fake and too good to be true. I can see through people like him. I continued to judge him as I marched up the stairs and into my bedroom. He reminded me of a monkey. I chuckled to myself and laid on my bed. All I could think about now was Peter.
