The club was packed tonight, the busiest it had been since you started working there. But it was a Friday night, it should have been expected. You hadn't had a chance to talk with Dabi, only a few sentences when you first arrived, but even then, it wasn't like you two had some kind of deep conversation. Mostly just asking how the other had been. You still weren't sure why he was being so civil; he hadn't so much as even hinted at the sinister lifestyle he was well known for. But you didn't have much time to dwell on it, forced to make drink after drink as people made their way to the bar to place an order.
You could feel a person come up to the bar while you prepared someone else's drink. Their presence was so demanding that you couldn't stop yourself from looking up. The man who stood before you was dressed in a suit, hair slicked back, giving real fuck off vibes.
"I'll take my usual, Dabi knows how I like it." He walked off without another word. He didn't have a file in the case, so you weren't sure how he knew Dabi. His appearance and demeanor screamed power, so much so that you were positive he had to have something to do with this. You turned to face Dabi who was on the other side of the bar, mixing something together.
"Hey!" he turned to look at you as he pushed the drink to the man in front of him. "That guy," you nodded in the direction he was sitting, "says you know how he likes his drink."
His eyes widened slightly as he realized who you were talking about. But he nodded, "Yeah I'll get right on it."
You were curious to know who that guy was, but you couldn't look too interested, it would make you suspicious. So, you went back to cleaning out your shakers, waiting for someone to approach the bar. You made sure to stand close by when Dabi dropped off the drink, wanting to hear anything he said.
"Here ya go boss," he set it down in front of him, but made no other move that indicated that he knew him. The man took his drink before he got up, walking across the room to a table filled with other guys dressed like him. A few of them you recognized from the case. So, there must have been more people involved than you originally anticipated. Dabi came up behind you then dropping off his own used utensils.
"That guy seemed intense," you spoke nonchalantly, making it seem like you were only pointing out the obvious, that the guy in the suit didn't fit the rooms atmosphere.
"He's just a regular who knows what he likes," was all he responded.
You left it alone after that, not wanting to seem to nosy. The rest of the night flew by in a blur and you and Dabi finally had everything cleaned up by 5 am. Thank goodness tomorrow, well today, was Saturday and you didn't have to go to the office. You said goodbye to Dabi before you left, he nodded at you in response but didn't say anything. He seemed distracted.
Fujimoto and the police escorted you back to the office, parking in the basement again.
"Nice work tonight, looks like we have more people to dig info up on," Fujimoto smiled, his eyes somehow shining in the dim light of the parking garage. "Do you need a ride to your hotel or anything?" He asked taking a step towards his car.
"Nah I'm good, it's just around the corner." You went to reach for your bag with your phone but realized you didn't have it. "Damnit, I think I left my bag in my office. Don't wait up!" You waved at Fujimoto before making your way back up to the top floor.
You spotted the bag on your desk, swiftly taking the wig you were wearing off and tossing it in, your hair falling around your face. Turning to leave you noticed the file Bakugou had told you to review. He'd probably chew you out later if you didn't drop it off before Monday. Picking it up you walked across the room to the wooden doors that separated you from his office.
