The chief had made it clear that your sole objective was to gain as much incriminating evidence on this gang, as possible. And you've tried, but they were keen on keeping everything from you. Come Friday, Dabi had done most of the work you had been sent to do. Whatever the client had ordered was still a mystery to you, in a way. Your quirk made it easy for you to know what you had dropped off, but you had absolutely zero physical evidence of what it actually was.
It was frustrating to have to be the one to figure all of this out. Not only did you have the chief breathing down your neck to get this moving, Bakugou now added to that pressure, constantly pestering you to get your job done. You were stuck, unable to move forward with this case and not entirely sure what to do about it. Now one week later and you still had nothing new to report, but luckily tonight you and Dabi had another assignment to fulfill. The both of you were to meet a potential client at a new nightclub. Though Dabi had dropped the hint that you were only allowed to go because the new client had a reputation of ogling over women.
The gangs boss insisted that you try and win him over by any means necessary. Which left you now sitting in your office, glaring at the short, revealing black party dress hanging behind the door. It wasn't your idea, not even close, but it was definitely going to ensure that things would go your way. By the end of the night the mystery gang leader would have a new client and you would be well on your way to having the evidence you needed to end this whole operation.
A commotion coming from the other side of the door pulled you out of your state of loathing. Bakugou was definitely yelling at someone, but the voices that responded were unfamiliar to you. Figuring it was better than giving a death glare to a dress, you made your way to the door, peeking out to see what was going on.
"Come on man, when's the last time you actually did anything fun?" A man with bright red hair spoke as he walked after Bakugou.
The hot-headed blond seemed to now be ignoring him as he stormed towards his office. A blur of golden blond hair zoomed past you, hot on their heels, but he was quick to stop and turn back in your direction.
"You must be new here," he flashed you a smile, offering his hand out towards you. "I'm Denki Kaminari. You might know me as the hero Chargebolt, I'm a pretty well known around here," his voice taking on a charming tone.
Taking his hand, you introduced yourself. His name really didn't ring any bells and if you were speaking honestly you hadn't even seen his name in the news or just about anywhere. The lightening bolt in his hair would have been a dead giveaway and you were positive you would have recognized him fairly quickly.
"So, are you like Bakugou's new sidekick?" He asked, scratching the back of his head as he tried to figure out who you were.
Your face quickly scrunched up in disgust, "I'm no one's sidekick," the words left your mouth as if they offended you.
"Oh, I didn't mean it like that," he scrambled to remedy the situation, "I'm just curious as to who you are, is all. Don't tell me you're like his secret girlfriend or something?"
Standing there a moment you tried to comprehend how someone could come to two polar opposite and ridiculous conclusions.
"Excuse me?" You stared back at him, at a complete loss for words.
His eyes grew wide, his charming demeanor quickly fading as he tried to... you weren't really sure. This couldn't have been his way of impressing you, it was pretty comical if it was.
"Well, I just mean if you're not his girlfriend, I wanted to know if I could have your number?" He gave you a sheepish smile as he rushed to get his words out.
