Completely blinded, you couldn't see anything that surrounded you. As you tried to move, it quickly became apparent that you were tied down. The ropes itched and the metal chair still felt cool against your skin. You obviously hadn't been here, wherever here was, for long. Tugging against your restraints, the chair scraped across the hard floor. Whoever tied these ropes, tied them well, they wouldn't be coming loose anytime soon.
As you continued to struggle, your heart jumped in your chest at the sound of a loud scream echoing through the air and you instantly froze. It wasn't the same voice as before, but it still had that same sound of agony that told you exactly where you were. Before you could even begin to process what this meant for you, the door to the room you were in opened and swiftly shut. Adrenaline was now running through you as your heart rate picked up. A hand touched your wrist, causing you to yelp as you tried and failed at pulling away.
"It's just me," a voice hissed, their hand now covering your mouth, preventing you from making another sound. They tugged off your blindfold and your gaze immediately locked with his ruby eyes. Letting you go, he went back to undoing the rope around your wrist.
"What's going on? How did I-"
"We don't have time," he cut you off, his hands dropping to the ropes around your ankle as you reached for your other wrist.
It only took a few seconds to free the rest of your limbs and the two of you bolted for the exit. Katsuki stopped you, before he opened the door, checking the hallway to make sure the coast was clear. Gripping your arm, he pulled you down the hall towards the ladder of the hatch. Your footsteps sounded heavy as you ran down the metal corridor and it wasn't long before a few more joined after you. Turning towards the new sound, you could see a few men down the hall, making their way towards you.
"I'll be right behind you, just go," Katsuki pushed you into the ladder, practically shoving you up and out of the hatch.
Sprinting like your life depended on it, you forced the front door open and the sun hit your eyes the moment you burst through. Stumbling out into the clearing, you blindly continued to run, without a clue as to where you were going. A pair of hands wrapped around your arms, stopping you from colliding with the person in front of you.
"Where's Bakugou?" Fujimoto questioned you, trying to keep you in place as you attempted to fight him off.
"He's right behind..." but your words trailed off, one quick glance over your shoulder and he was nowhere to be seen. "Katsuki?" You yelled. When you didn't receive an answer, you shifted, going back towards the shack you just escaped.
Fujimoto's arms wrapped around you, as if he knew what was to happen next. Pulling you away from the building, it was like time had slowed. In the pure silence you saw it, a quick flash of light, before a sudden burst of flames erupted from the building. The explosive sound reached your ears mere moments later, almost at the exact time you yelled for Katsuki again.
Dread instantly weighed down in the pit of your stomach. That wasn't like Kat's quirk. He was definitely capable of something that destructive, but he'd never do that with so many innocent people still inside. Billows of smoke continued to rise into the sky, and the longer Fujimoto held you back, the more you realized Katsuki wouldn't be walking out of the wreckage.
"Kat!" You cried, but it came out as more of a choked sob, your voice now hoarse from your constant screams.
You shot up and almost out of the bed completely. "Katsuki?!" You yelled for him, searching the room, trying to adjust to the darkness. "Kat?!" You shouted again as tears welled in your eyes the longer he remained silent.
Trying to hold back the tears, you could feel a fit of hysterical sobs threaten to convulse through you. It was just a dream, it was just a dream, it was just a dream. But it didn't matter how many times you told yourself that. You knew it wasn't true. Your head dropped into your hands, as you were no longer able to hold back this wave of emotions. It swept over you, leaving you completely helpless.
