You Would Have Let it Happen

The incessant ticking coming from the clock in your office was the only indication that time was moving. You sat at your desk, waiting as the time ticked by, wanting nothing more than for today's meeting to be called off. But you knew that wasn't going to happen.

After the events of Monday night, you had been lucky to not run into Bakugou once. Actually, luck had nothing to do with it. You'd used your quirk more times than necessary to make sure you wouldn't have to see him. So much so that you began to feel that familiar headache pulsating in the back of your skull. It was an experience you hadn't had since high school; you've had enough practice by now to know how to not overuse your quirk but in a situation like this, it couldn't be helped.

Neither one of you had said anything about what had happened. Once the fog that covered your thoughts had cleared, you'd definitely fumbled around like an idiot, fixing your appearance before sprinting out of his office. You swore to yourself to never wear a skirt to work ever again. But what good did swearing do for you, the memories of that night were seared into your thoughts, sporadically popping up into your mind whenever you least expected it. You welcomed your nightmares when you fell asleep, only if they would make you forget about what it felt like when he was inside you.

That only lasted so long, your body consistently betrayed your wishes of trying to put that night into the back of your head. Your skin heating up whenever he'd cross your mind. Your body automatically tensing whenever you heard him yelling from the other side of your office door. Your thoughts immediately playing the words he'd growled at you when he was-

Enough.

If it wasn't bad enough that Bakugou consumed your thoughts every waking moment, your thoughts only worsened the more you tried to ignore them.  You never wanted to admit it, but sex with him had been absolutely amazing. It was easily the best you'd had in a very long time. So it only made sense that your body wanted to relive the memories, but once you remembered who you had sex with, it left you angry and pissed off.

You pulled out your compact mirror, quickly checking your reflection, wanting to keep the still purple bruises on your neck hidden from prying eyes. It wasn't like you could wear a turtle neck or scarf to the office, that would only bring you more unwanted attention. Snapping the mirror closed, you took a glance at the time and sighed, it was time to go. You kept your head low as you walked down the hall, not wanting to bring attention to yourself. Fujimoto had already picked up on the fact that you weren't acting like you normally did.

Your stomach sank at the thought of Fujimoto. He'd been nothing but nice to you since you'd arrived, and you've basically been ignoring him since yesterday morning. But you had no other choice at the moment, you knew he would question you about your recent behavior and you honestly didn't have any answers for him. You stopped walking, the doors to the conference room the only thing keeping you from the two men you've spent the last almost 36 hours avoiding.

Everything will be okay. You repeated those words in your head over and over, making it your mantra as you closed your eyes, your hand moving to open the door. The moment you walked in you searched for Joe, he was in the same spot you both sat in last time. Your eyes never leaving him as you walked over, throwing yourself in the seat beside him.

"Good morning," you spoke absentmindedly, as you forced your eyes to look at the table before you, your knee jumping up and down, letting Joe know how on edge you were.

He gave you a quizzical look, "Are you okay? You seem... off."

"Me? I'm good, I'm fine, I'm a-okay." Laughing nervously, you knew nobody would ever buy the pitiful display you'd just put on.

"Right," he said the word slowly, as he turned from you, all the more confused as to why you were acting this way.

Luckily the two of you didn't have to say anything more, as the police chief walked through the door calling everyone's attention. Automatically going into the agenda of today's meeting. You weren't really paying attention to anything he was saying, too focused on the fact that you felt a pair of eyes watching you. Not brave enough to see which of the two men it was, you kept your eyes on the paper in front of you, but you didn't really see what it said. The chief droned on and on, your mind drifting slightly as you tried to take notes, but your paper ended up with more doodles then words.
