His car sat idle off the main road. The pier was dark and empty with only a few lights scattered around, but they weren't that helpful. Katsuki watched the empty location from the drivers seat, his eyes moved swiftly over every inch of the pier that he could see. Most pedestrians wouldn't venture out this far from the city this late at night and the heroes on patrol normally didn't make rounds in the vicinity either.
The minutes ticked by on the clock on the dash. His gaze would flick down each time the clock would change as he anticipated the drop that was supposed to be here. It was only 10:45, the package wouldn't arrive for at least 15 more minutes. That was more time than he wanted to wait. The longer he sat here with only his thoughts to keep him company, the longer he had to think about if this was the right thing to do.
Of course it was the right thing, it was his only viable option right now. He didn't have the time or resources to try and find you. There was always the off chance that Dabi was lying and he wouldn't kill you if Katsuki didn't do what he said, but he wasn't going to try and risk that. Unfortunately there wasn't anything you could do to help either. The future was your only window to catch a glimpse on what was going through Katsuki's head.
His fingers tapped against the steering wheel as he continued to wait and think about this impending delivery. Get in and get out, that's all he had to do. If he could get whatever this was to Dabi and confirm your safety then he would have the chance to come up with a better plan of getting you out of there. If pretending to be Dabi's fucking errand boy was all it took, so be it. But the voice in the back of his head had to wonder what the hell he was sent to get.
He didn't get the chance to dwell on it, a small ship was now pulling up to the dock. It was now or never. Slipping out of the car, he attempted to put his thoughts on hold. He didn't need a moral crisis at the moment. The voices of two men could be heard along the dock and Katsuki kept close to the pile of old crates and boxes from earlier deliveries. He was a little grateful that he picked out a few darker pieces of clothing today, at least he might have blended in and was a touch more inconspicuous.
Both men didn't seem to notice him as they walked towards the warehouse his car was hidden behind. This looked like his one chance to get on and off the boat without being noticed. It was either that or wait until the men brought their crates into the warehouse. But he wasn't really trying to get tied up in the act of breaking and entering.
Sneaking on to the small cargo ship wasn't a problem. Finding the actual item Dabi wanted, well that was going to be a little more challenging since he wasn't very specific on what it was. There were only six crates lined up across the front portion of the boat. Peeking through the slits along the sides it seemed that the boxes they held all looked the same. He didn't have the time to check each of them, but hopefully taking one would suffice. Gripping the lid, he pushed with as much force as he could to break the seal. With a crack the lid popped up just enough to take out a box.
The cardboard was blank and didn't give a clue as to what was inside, but it would have to do. Without wasting another second he turned to book it off the boat, only to come to a screeching halt as he faced someone standing on the dock. They looked at him with wide eyes and in the small cast of light from the pier, Katsuki recognized the young man frozen before him.
"Dynamite?" The sidekick asked. Katsuki wasn't sure how much he had witnessed or how he was going to explain what he was doing. But he needed to say something quick, before this guys hero showed up.
"Hey man, why don't you go check in with the guys at the warehouse. I'll take it from here," a voice spoke from the darkness. It looked like it was too late for petty excuses.
"Of course, Red Riot," the sidekick nodded quickly before hurrying away from the dock.
Kirishima took his place, now blocking the only real exit off this ship. The two heroes stood in silence, neither of them sure how to start this conversation. All Katsuki knew was that it couldn't end in a fight, there wasn't enough time for that.
