He smirked down at you, clearly he knew something you didn't, "We have a guy that'll take care of that don't worry."
Dabi turned to leave then, expecting you to follow him back into the dark alley. He slowed down when you stepped out of the building, the door closing shut behind you. His steps syncing with yours as you made your way back to the streets of the city.
"I'll text you where to meet me on Friday. And don't look so worried, it's a pretty simple job," his low voice sounded almost calming as his head turned in your direction. He held your gaze as if he were searching for something and when he didn't find what he was looking for he gave you another smirk. "See you around."
Sticking his hands in his pockets again he turned down the street, leaving you alone. As you made your way back to the car you knew was waiting, you couldn't stop the flood of thoughts as you ran through everything that had happened. You still couldn't believe that you had been introduced to the mystery man and you still didn't know his name. One man shouldn't have been so hard to identify, but he was making it impossible. It was like he didn't even truly exist.
The rest of your night was spent taking notes and adding details to the case. The chief had set up another meeting tomorrow afternoon and you knew he'd want to know how tonight had gone. You didn't really have much information, except perhaps a possible hideout location. But when you thought about it the place didn't really seem like they frequented it much. Like it was only a place for brief encounters if you could even say that.
By the time you were done you flopped into bed, hoping for a good night's sleep. But it could never be that easy, you were pulled out of sleep throughout the night, screams and the smell of smoke filled your senses, forcing you awake every few hours. Finally giving up you started your normal morning routine.
Some special force had to be on your side because you had ended up with the entire morning to yourself. Nobody bugged you at the gym, no one was waiting for you in your office, you had an entirely normal morning and it left you feeling eerily suspicious. But it shouldn't have been too much of a surprise, Bakugou would definitely be preparing for the meeting with the chief. So, he was most likely putting all of his energy into that, not wanting to waste time annoying you.
Thoughts of the meeting reminded you that you had your own notes you needed to finish. Bakugou would probably want to review them before the meeting this afternoon, meaning you should drop them off soon.
After a few hours of writing and reviewing, you figured that was as good as they were going to get. Picking up the file you made your way to the wooden double doors you'd begun to detest. Bakugou was sitting at his desk, so lost in his own paperwork that he paid no attention to you as you walked in. Walking up to his desk you dropped the file and turned to leave.
"What the hell is this?" The aggravated voice from behind you spoke.
Stopping you half turned towards him, "Notes from the meet up last night, figured you'd want them before today's meeting with the chief."
You watched as he pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh. He looked as if the thought of being stuck in this room with more paperwork would kill him.
"Hey if you don't want it, I can take it back," your voice was a tad bit condescending.
"Shut up," he growled at you, obviously not in the mood to put up with your shit.
Throwing your hands up in mock surrender you turned to leave again. You really didn't see what Fujimoto had been talking about, Bakugou wasn't any more lenient than before. He was still the same asshole you'd meet a couple weeks ago.
