"Sorry, official hero business," you rushed, flashing him your badge, "I need to borrow this. Now!"
Scrambling out of the car, the man looked at you in complete shock as you hopped in and gunned it down the road. Your quirk worked in the background as you tried to figure out how to get to the hideout, you really couldn't afford to get pulled over right now. Flooring it, you weaved in and out of traffic, missing a couple cars by a few inches. Horns blared at you, but you couldn't have cared less, you just needed to get to Katsuki before it was too late.
This wouldn't be like last time. Unfortunately for Seth, you didn't have the time to spare nor the time to even try and prevent what had happened. This time you did and even though all the odds were pointed against you, you were going to find a way. You had to, for Kat's sake. He may have been beyond pissed at you right now, but you still owed it to him to at least try.
Making it out of the city in record time, the trees soon began to cover the sides of the road. You were almost there. Accelerating the car to its limits, dirt picked up and left a cloud of dust behind you. Your eyes narrowed in on the side road coming up, slamming on the brakes you turned the car. Forced to slow down on the new, uneven terrain, you searched for the hidden road you knew would be coming up. But you didn't have to look very hard as rows of police cars covered the entrance, you would be forced to run from here.
Forcing the door open you took a step out of the car, scanning the people around in an attempt to find the best way to go. Your legs started running without a second thought, pushing you up the trail and towards the building you knew Katsuki was already inside of. You could see his actions milliseconds before he made them, watching as he forced his way deeper into the maze of rooms and hallways hidden below the abandoned building. No villain stood a chance against him as he focused on clearing the way for the victims trapped inside. He was a force to be reckoned with and it was apparent why he thought your vision wouldn't come true.
You wished you could watch his every move, wanting to make sure he stayed out of harms way, but you couldn't. Right now you needed to find the source of the explosion and put a stop to it before it became a reality. The muscles in your legs burned as you sprinted forward, but your eyes were focused on watching every other persons actions. You switched through everybody's future that you could find, trying to pinpoint the exact moment.
Breaking into the clearing, the small shack finally came into view. Zeroing in on it, everything else faded into the background. You were almost there, just a few more steps. With your eyes seeing two things at once, you almost didn't notice when a person jumped out in front of you. Their arms tugged at you, breaking you out of your trance.
"What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here," the police chief insisted in a gruff voice. You already knew if you didn't get out of his grip quickly, he'd have his men take you in.
"They're all going to die, I can't let him die!" You yelled, yanking your arms free. Frantically you hurried towards the building. Your heart was working in overtime, while your lungs felt like they were on fire, but you couldn't stop now. Not when you were so close.
Finally, you saw it, the moment the boss gave the command. He had no other choice, Katsuki had made his way throughout the entire structure, all that was left was grabbing the man responsible. It was his final option and his only way of escape. Destroy the hideout and everything inside, it was like an insurance plan that guaranteed he got away scot-free. You watched as one of his henchmen carried out the order. The man walked to a small control room and like some Hollywood movie, he opened a box and pressed the red button that would detonate the bombs littered throughout the underground bunker.
Reaching for the door, you knew exactly which room he would be going in. Without a way of knowing how much time you had left, you shoved through the door. Katsuki's future was running through your head as you ran to the small hatch and ladder. You could see him as he kicked in the metal door like it was nothing, but as he walked into the last room, you realized something wasn't right. The boss wasn't there and the room was completely empty.
