Chapter 2 Out in town

As it stands I have now snuck out and am now exploring the port city. And as one would expect of a port city it is bustling with life. With merchants selling their goods from different parts of the continent and the buyers fighting for the best items. I would say that this place is a mix of cultures but with how this game is written I can not really say. I can smell the sea air and hear the seagulls call in the background. I can see that this city is very well off and I have yet to see any slums or beggars. But it could also be that I am just walking through the wrong part of town. As this seems to be the market district. This place really reminds me of the marketplaces in Africa with a mix of European and Asian influences. The deeper in I go the more food stands appear and after a while, I can only see different kinds of street food and ingredients. I decided to get something to eat from their food stalls since my teacher gave me a little pocket money a few days ago. Though if I did not sneak out today, when would I ever use it? I wandered around trying to choose what to get and after a while, I decided on getting tofu steamed buns. I walk towards the stand and buy five buns which cost two onjinz which is the currency here. It is the equivalent of six dollars. And considering that four other stalls sell practically the same thing this stall is the cheapest. This made me discover that the pocket money my teacher gave me is not a small amount. Since he gave me about twenty Onjinz which is worth sixty dollars. That is not anyone's typical pocket money. And if I remember correctly the fee to adopt someone at my orphanage is half that price. Since they want commoners to adopt. Working as a butler must have made him loaded, though I wonder why he decided to give me that much money, he did not give some to anyone else.

And I thought it would be more likely for him to give it to that boy since he is the one who he seems closest.

I decided to explore more of the city before I return and after I end up in a place that seems to be a slum but it is too clean to be one and there are not so many people there. This place gives me a peculiar feeling and decides to explore it a bit.

As I have walked quite a fair bit in, I find it strange that I have not seen any homeless people or other people for that matter. What's even odder is that this place reminds me of my previous dad's lab where he has his test subjects. Where he tests all of the new drugs he has invented. Suddenly I sense something from behind and quickly walk to the side and an empty glass bottle flies right past me and then shatters when it hits the ground. I then turn around and see a man who looks like a mindless zombie. His eyes look dead and drool drips from his mouth. His clothes are dirty and cheap. And his skin is kind of blueish. He walks towards me like a drunkard and tries to punch me. I easily dodge it and trip him over by kicking his left foot. Then when he is done I waste no time as I hit him unconscious. Then I squat down as I check his pulse. And it beats a bit faster than normal. I can smell a familiar smell on him that my previous self knows all too well. He has been drugged and not only that it is the drug that you discover if you choose Alzids root. Although this drug is completely fictional my father from my last life tried to replicate this drug when my sister begged him to do so. And that drug smells just like the smell that is on this man.

Good for you. Well, I have been gone long enough it is time for me to head back but first I need to deal with the other two drugged victims behind me. The first one who attacks me is a little girl a little younger than me. She attacked me just like a zombie as she tried to bite me. I hit her on the head and then threw her over my back. Another one comes at me and I punch him on his stomach which causes him to fall back a little. Then I jump up and sidekick him on his head so that he falls. Then the girl runs towards me again trying to grab me but I catch her left arm and then break it by twisting her arm. Despite this, the girl continues like she feels no pain and continues to attack. As expected they can feel no pain so my best course of action is to knock them out since it would be troublesome to kill them in case anyone discovers that it is me who killed them. I step aside to avoid her attack and then headbutts her so hard that she falls unconscious. The last one is up again and now attacks me with a knife. I barely dodge it leaving a tiny cut on my cheek. I kick his hand so that he drops his knife and pushes him to the ground by using my body weight.
