I was reborn as an orphan, But I won't let that stop me

Once breakfast was done Annette went out to meet her teacher. The first thing he did was to ask her about how much she knew about magic tool enchanting and smiting and other metal work. Annette told him that she knows all the basics about magic toll enchanting and even some more complicated enchantments. But admitted that she barely knew anything about working with metal other than melting and mixing different metals and then hitting it to shape it. Hearing this he is not surprised so the first thing he did was to let her watch as he makes a simple dagger. As she watches he explains every step, from what every tool is called. What material he is using and at what ratio. He explained how to tell when the metal is hot enough to hit it, and how to shape it while it hits. How to tell when the metal is strong enough and much more. Once the dagger is done he asks her questions to see what she has learned. As she explains everything he is very pleased to see that she is a fast learner. Although she did get something wrong and needed to be corrected. But as someone who knows nothing about the subject and learned so much in just 2 hours. Makes him very satisfied.

Next up he shows her the process about metal work things like jewelry and figurine making with a mold. Just like how he did with the dagger he showed and taught her about every step in the process. So at the end of it all she watched as he made a dagger, a ring and a miniature female bronze statue. Once all this was done it was already near night time, so he told her to go back home and come back tomorrow at the same time.

Once she returned she noticed that neither Loyd or Clyde was at the mansion. But she did not think much about it as she eat some food and went back to bed. The next day she noticed that they are back and just like yesterday she and Clyde had a morning run together before breakfast. This time though at the dinner table, Loyd ended up being very chatty. It seems like something happened while the here out that made him very upset and decided to went out if frustration by talking. Although she never imagined that he would be the talkative type. After all he always seems to be someone who would immerse them self with recherche when he is in a bad mood. Although he would most likely have any access to something like that in this mansion. The Icenfrost is after all a militaristic family and not an academic one so having a lab in a summer house would seem strange. Anyway from what she gathered it seems like both of them are looking for something that is very hard to come by. And there are rumors that they can find it here. But since that is none of her business she dont ask about it, a curiosity killed the cat after all. 

After she was done she went back to teacher and this time it was her turn to work at the forge. He told her to make a dagger similar to the one yesterday. Even with him guiding her it took her many attempts to make a passable blade. But even that was not good enough. But they did not have anymore time today so she went back. Just like last time they where not there when she arrived but was back when she woke up the next day. Clyde and Annette had a morning run and after eating she was back again to learn smiting. With that she kept the same routine for 2 weeks and it was not until then that her dagger blade was approved of. During that time she also started to have morning sparing sessions with Clyde. It ended up with either she won or her did. But so far she is in the lead with 2 wins more then him. With that they also grew closer together and she even managed to make him blush a few times. Loyd on the other hand gets even more and more frustrated by each passing day as they have not made any progress at all. But Clyde dont seam very worried about finding it. So she concluded that whatever they are looking for is more valuable to Loyd then to Clyde.

Once she was done with that dagger blade he then made her do the same type of blade multiple times. So that making dagger blades would become second nature to her. So for another 5 days she managed to standardize her success. That is then he taught her how to make the wooden handle for the daggers as well as how to but it on. This step is much more simple so she mastered it in about 3 days. As time went on he made her make more complicated smiting stuff, he also made her make a lot of jewelry and figurines. He also taught her about the different metals he used and how which metals is more suitable for what type of magic. For example gold would be a terrible for ice type spells but are excellent with fire spells. She also learned more about how to incorporate enchantments so as to make magic tools. She also learned about how to incorporate runes so as to stabilize the enchantments so that the last longer and are more safe to use. After all poorly made magic tools can go out of control and that is one of the reasons the government restricts who can make them. Each craftsmen most go trough tests to get a licence and more to if they want to teach it out to others. Although her master was kicked out by the imperial recherche institute he still kept his licence since he did not actually make any big mistake.

Now after 2 months she is back again at the mansion but this time she got a letter from her lady.
