Today is the day of Cassi's debut and Annette waits for Cassi to be ready. Annette watches her maid's groom and polishes her like she is a diamond.

Annette on the other hand has bound her breasts so it looks flat and puts on the suit that both her lady and the madam have joyfully chosen for her. Her hair that has grown to her hips has braided. As that is one of the ways men wear it if they have long hair. She has also put on her black mask that all servants at the party are required to wear but as Annette is the main character's aide and escort she got silver decorations on her mask. Not only does that outfit on her look very mysterious she also looks very handsome like a first-grade ikemen. One can only wonder how handsome she would look if one could see her face. The only thing that looks out of place is the choker on her neck but on her, it only entices her allure. While on someone else in men's clothing would look like they were someone's pet.

After she had waited a while Cassi was finally ready. They have set up her beautiful blonde hair with a half bun that has braids on the side. Then they have used makeup to make her blue eyes bigger and have also added a silvery eyeshadow. Then they have made her cheeks pale pink and finally her lips are painted pale pink with notes of silver. She looks stunning, it is just what you would expect of a villainess though she has yet developed the personality of one.

"What do you think Anne?" Cassi asks her calmly as a high-ranking lady is expected to do. Though she can not hide the playfulness in her eyes.

"It suits you, my lady." Annette answers which causes Cassi to slightly pout.

"You are not sincere at all and I told you to call me by name." She says.

"No." Annette refuses calmly. Cassi knows that she should not push it further today as today is her big day. And besides, she has complained about it for almost a year but has not made any progress at all.

"Shall we go now my lady, they are waiting," Annette says as she stretches her arm out. "Yes," Cassi says as she grabs her arm and gets escorted to the big ballroom.

Once they arrive the servants call out their names.

"Enter, lady Cassi Evernight with her escort and her aide." Normally they would call out the name of the escort too but as to hide her gender the Evernight's couple ordered not to do so. "This of course doesn't go unnoticed by all the important guests at the party. The lowest-ranked attending is that of an earl.

They of course look at them curiously while discussing among themselves. Most want to build connections as she is the daughter of one of the two grand dukes. But some try to find faults. Not mentioning her aide's name causes a lot of gossips.

They have heard that they made a commoner her aide but they never thought it was true. But to them, it was confirmed when her name was not mentioned.

Cassi must be so embarrassed that her aide is a mere commoner, what was the grand duke thinking. Or the lady must have such a bad personality so no noble would stay as her aide. Such was the thing they were whispering among themselves.

They were waiting for Annette to make a fool of herself and bring shame upon, Lady Cassi. It would be fun to watch.

But the young ladies that saw Annette all became smitten. It was like they saw a seductive demon that would steal their hearts away. The young men on the other hand thought of how they could steer up a conversation and make her their fiance. Not only was she beautiful but the most important thing is that she is of high status. They would even have a connection with the royal family if they married her.

They walk to the other end of the ballroom where the rest of Cassis' family waited.

As per tradition Cassi let go of Annette's arm and bowed down on her knees to her parents and waited for her father to start and finish his speech.
