I Think It's Time You Leave

Start from the beginning

"Text me when you get there."

"I will," he grinned.

"And be safe."

"I will," he said again, his amused expression growing with your worries.

"And-" Kat cut your rambling short with a kiss. His hands moved from your waist going up to cup your face and his fingers found themselves momentarily lost in your hair.

"I love you, baby," Kat spoke softly before pressing another light kiss to your lips. "I'll be back before you know it."

"I love you too," you breathed, trying to find your way out of the haze he put you in.

His grip on you loosened as he began to make his way towards the plane. "Call me if you need anything," his hands slid down your arms and past your wrists. Holding your hands in his one last time, he gave them a squeeze before he let go.

Nodding in response, you went back to the drivers side of the car. With one last wave, Kat disappeared into the plane and you settled back into your seat. The engine hummed to life as you prepared to leave and you tried to keep your thoughts focused on how today would go. But as you drove to work your mind couldn't help but wander back to your fiancé.

Glancing at the interior of your car, you were reminded of the time when you really decided to move to Japan. Katsuki had gone with you back to your home town, figuring the two of you had been together long enough that he should at least meet a few of your friends and family members. He helped you go through your things and pack the items you were going to keep. Your car was one of the things you wanted to take with you, but Katsuki was completely against the idea.

"Absolutely not," Kat stood before you with his arms crossed. "You are not bringing this death trap with us."

"Oh come on," you laughed. "It's only a few years old."

"Try a few centuries," he quipped under his breath.

Shoving his shoulder, you wouldn't let him talk badly about your baby. "There are people out there that collect older cars," you pointed out.

"Yeah, like vintage. Not this hunk of junk," he scoffed. "I'll just buy you a car, how about that?"

"You do not need to waste money on another car when we have a perfectly good one right here."

With his pointer finger he turned your chin towards him. Speaking slowly, he looked you dead in the eye, "My girlfriend will not be seen driving around in that," he pointed to the car still sitting behind you both. "If you don't want me to buy you a car, you can use mine. Besides, I've been wanting a motorcycle for a while."

A smile crossed your face as the memory faded out. Parking into your usual spot, you went up to your office. There were a few things you needed to take care of before the weekend. Printing out some request forms, you began to fill them out as methodically as possible. These needed to be turned in ASAP or you'd be waiting forever to be able to look through the evidence the police had gathered. The paperwork and the research were the most boring parts of any case but they needed to be done before you could set boots on the ground.

About an hour or so had passed before you got a text from Kat, he was fine and the flight had gone well. Not that you expected anything less, but you liked to hear it from him. Shortly after his message you received another, this one from Mina. She wanted to know if you would go out with her tonight. There was a new club that she had been dying to check out. Leaving the message open you thought it over. It might be nice to get out of the house and when was the last time the two of you had a real girls night. When you didn't reply almost immediately she called you.
