Hours passed as you waited on the couch. First Kosuke's light was turned off and it was soon followed by Aimi's. The rage burning inside you was ready to boil over as each second ticked by. How could he do this? The longer you sat there, the worse it got. Your foot tapped against the floor like an angry mother waiting for her sneaky child to return home. It was a little after one in the morning when you heard the front door open. He walked slowly, but you could hear his loud steps as he approached the living room.
"Is this considered soon, Katsuki? Why did you even bother showing up at all?" You spoke as he entered the room, but you couldn't bring yourself to look at him.
"I told you I would be here. I wasn't about to break a promise."
"You can't be serious," venom had made its way in your voice. "It's not like you're even spending time with them."
"Well that's a little difficult to do when you live across town," he bit out. You could feel his glare from the other side of the room.
"That was your choice," you matched his look, your eyes now glaring into his fury filled crimson ones. He looked drained and his face was covered in dirt and grime. Katsuki didn't look anything like the man you had met almost 20 years ago. He had scars that reached across his body and one that went down the side of his right cheek. Not to mention he was looking a little more rugged these days, he hadn't shaved in a while and the undercut he usually kept had almost grown out. Part of you was tired of arguing, but the other part wanted to get these feelings out. He shouldn't be able to get away with treating quality time with his family as something so unimportant and insignificant. "If that's all you have to say, than you can leave," you added when he didn't say anything more.
He laughed at your statement, but there was no real humor in it. "Are you really kicking me out of my own house? Did you forget who fucking pays for all of this shit?"
"How can I be the one to kick you out when you're the one who left?"
His demeanor changed, turning darker if it were possible, "I may have made the suggestion, but I never thought you would have fucking agreed to it." Katsuki did come up with the idea. In the heat of an argument, the topic of spending time apart was brought up. You didn't think it would have turned into this, but it had been months since Katsuki lived in this house. "What's got you so pissed off anyway? I'm trying to make this work as best I can."
You remained silent, what was the point in explaining it again and again when he couldn't even see the way his actions affected everyone else.
"There is someone else, isn't there?" He spoke low, with accusation in his tone.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you pinched the bridge of your nose. Now so beyond frustrated, you couldn't even look in his direction. "Why do you even care about that right now?"
"Why do I care? Maybe because we're still married and I'll be damned if I'm going to let my wife fuck around with somebody else," the volume of his voice rose and was now a few decibels from echoing off the walls.
"Keep it down, people are trying to sleep," you shot at him, whilst trying to keep your own voice level.
"Just tell me the fucking truth," he snarled, ignoring your warning to quiet down.
Jumping from your spot on the couch, you were done trying to keep this civil. "Not that you even need to know, but no there isn't anyone else. I'm pissed because you don't make time for Aimi and Kosuke! They need you, don't you get that?! And you're never around for them!"
"How can I be around if you don't even want me here?" Katsuki was yelling just the same as you.
The both of you were now red in the face, trying to yell over each other in this screaming match that had only just begun. But it was abruptly cut short as you heard a voice behind you.
