It's Too Late For That

Start from the beginning

"You don't," Dabi didn't think twice about his question. "But if you want any chance of finding her, you'll hand over the box."

Closing the distance between them, Katsuki thrust the box into Dabi's chest. He grabbed it, trying to pull it from his grasp but Katsuki wasn't about to let go.

"Her location. Tell me where she is." His voice was low and demanding.

"I could tell you, or I could take you there," Dabi offered.

Katsuki clenched his teeth, he wasn't here for anyones twisted games. "Tell me where the fuck she is, or so help me-"

Raising his hands in surrender, Dabi cleared his throat. "Remember the shack in the woods? That's where you'll find her."

With a shove Katsuki pushed Dabi away, letting go of the box. He began to walk away, pulling out his cell phone he looked for the shack's location on a map.

"Ah, hold on. I gotta make sure you didn't damage this first," Dabi called after him.

"Why the hell would I stay around for that?" Katsuki snarled back at him.

"Because it'll take you about thirty minutes to get there and I can call the order for her to be killed within seconds. So be a good hero and wait a sec." Dabi opened the package swiftly and his eyes went wide as he marveled at whatever was inside. "These are pretty hard to come by, you know? I can't tell you how grateful I am that you got this for me."

Katsuki rolled his eyes, "Can I go now?"

"No, I have to test it first." As Dabi spoke, a few of his henchmen knocked Katsuki a few steps back towards him. He was ready to turn this into a fight when Dabi spoke again. "Use your quirk and it's over for her."

Kat faltered at his threat and in his moment of hesitation the other men latched onto his arms and held them open for Dabi. He grabbed the object in the box and let the cardboard fall to the ground. The large metal cuffs were easily recognizable and Katsuki pulled against the henchmen as Dabi went to lock them around his hands. With a click his fate was sealed and his quirk became unusable.

"It seems I've changed my mind. I'll take you to her myself," Dabi nodded at the guys still holding on to Kat. They reacted quickly, forcing him towards a car in the back of the construction site. With the help of someone's quirk and what seemed like the snap of their fingers, Katsuki was now struggling to keep his eyes open.

The sound of the door opening yanked you away from the vision. Dabi waltzed in with another guy walking closely behind him.

"Sorry to do this to ya, dollface. But I can't have you trying anything while I'm gone." He stepped back, letting the other man approach you. Leaning as far back into your chair as you could, you tried your best to cover your face from his hands. But it was no use, he snapped and with a small puff of smoke a drowsy feeling soon took over. You could barely make out the two figures walking out the door as the room faded to black.

It could have been hours or minutes, you weren't sure, but the sound of the metal door slamming shut forced you awake. You immediately caught sight of a new addition to the room. Another chair sat across from you and Katsuki was latched to it with his hands still locked away by the handcuffs.

Struggling with your restraints, you wanted nothing more than to rush to him. Out of all the futures you saw, this had been the worse case scenario and now he was trapped here with you.

"Katsuki," you called out for him while continuing to waste your time trying to break free from your seat.

He rustled at the sound of your voice and slowly his eyes opened. He looked lost as he glanced around the room, not sure how he ended up here. His eyes finally landed on you and as he opened his mouth to speak, Dabi broke the silence.

"You both are finally awake." He practically skipped across the room, excitement in his eyes as he glanced between the both of you. "I didn't think you both would make it so easy, but here we are."

"What the fuck are you talking about," Katsuki's voice sounded groggy. He was still trying to come to terms with what was going on.

"Let's start with you then shall we?" Dabi made his way towards Katsuki. "You are much weaker than I thought you were. Not physically of course, so don't go making that face. But mentally. Emotionally. All it took was taking what's most precious from you."

He walked back to where you sat and his hand wrapped around your neck, pulling you hard against the back of the chair. Katsuki stiffened, wishing there was something he could do to get to you.

"This pretty little number right here, is your biggest weakness. And that's okay, well for me because I can exploit that." Dabi finally let you go from his grasp and turned his attention to you. "As for you, I'm just astounded that I gave you how long to prepare? 15 years to be exact and you really didn't accomplish much."

Katsuki's eyes squinted in confusion, "The hell did you just say?"

"Oh, you didn't tell him?" Dabi grinned like this was just getting better and better. "At least I know you can keep a secret. But there is something I need to grab. So, why don't you guys talk this over until I get back."

The room fell silent after Dabi took his exit. There wasn't much else to look at, but Katsuki kept his eyes anywhere but you.

"Katsuki," you started. He was quick to send a glare in your direction.

"You knew what he was planning for fifteen fucking years and you just left me in the dark," he growled.

"It wasn't like that. If you'd just let me explain."

"That's rich, you had all the time in the world to explain this shit to me." He turned his head in an attempt to shut down this conversation.

You knew Katsuki would be upset, but you couldn't let Dabi get away with dividing you both even further. With a sigh you began again, "He threatened our friends, your parents, everyone we cared about if I so much as told anyone."

"Like he's doing right now?" He huffed. "We're supposed to be a team, but you didn't even consider telling me."

"Of course I did. I wanted-"

Dabi swung the door open again, with a cart close behind him. "Good, you both are already arguing. I couldn't wait to test out this new product on the two of you." He pulled the cart and left it in the center of the room, between your chairs.

"You're not testing shit-"

"Don't get so riled up," Dabi lifted a syringe with a large needle on the end. "That's what these are for."

He turned to look at Katsuki and then you, "Eenie, Meenie, you." Picking up a glowing vial he took his time getting to where you sat. "If I do this right, it won't hurt at all."

"And if you don't," you muttered.

"It's gonna hurt like hell." He tilted your head, much to your resistance and jabbed the needle directly into the side of your throat. You winced as he injected the glowing fluid and a few seconds later he pulled away.

"That one's still in the experimental phase. But this one," he lifted a different colored vial and stood by Katsuki, "I know exactly what this one does."

Checking the time, he pulled the cart towards the door. "I'd give it a few minutes to kick in. Until then I suggest a quick reunion and maybe some forgiveness. You're going to wish you did."

With that he left the room and the door was locked shut. A buzzer rang loudly before your restraints unlatched, letting you both free.
