"I personally don't see what you see in that jackass," I muttered, rolling onto my side and looking to Nancy who had the phone in her hand, on the other end of the phone was the third of our three best friends, Barbara, or Barb.

"He's..." Nancy paused for a moment, squinting, "not all that bad when you get to know him."

"He's Steve Harrington," I grimaced.

"Come on, y/n," she urged before pausing.

"What's she saying?" I asked, nodding to the phone as Nancy listened to Barb.

"No, I know," Nancy ignored me, "no. Yeah, says you."

Ah she's also agreeing with me about this whole Steve thing.

"Barb," Nancy sighed, "no. I know that's sucks, Barb—"

"Hey, Nancy, y/n," a voice called from the other side of the door, we both looked over to see one of the kids in the house.

What was his name again? Can't remember. He's one of Nancy's brother's friends.

"There's a slice left if you want it," he showed us the pizza box, I looked to Nancy and then back to the kid with a look that probably wasn't the most inviting, "sausage and pepperoni."

"Hold on," Nancy said to Barb as she got up.

I snagged the phone while she went to the door and shut it in the poor kids face.

"She's gone mad, Barb, I'm telling you," I spoke to Barb as Nancy looked at me from the now closed door and shook her head, "all she thinks about now is Steve, Steve, oh Steve~"

"Oh come on, y/n, don't be immature," Nancy walked over and snatched the phone from my hand.

"You know I'm right," I smiled before dropping down on the bed again, "I bet you haven't been studying for the test because all you've been thinking of is floppy hair Steven."

"It's Steve, y/n, and I have been," she huffed, "all I do is study, you know."

"Right~" I rolled my eyes, glancing over to her side to see her flashcards on the bedside table, "anyway, it's late. My parents are leaving early so I need to get home before I end up getting locked out for the next week or so."

I pushed myself up off the bed and grabbed my jacket.

"Drive safe," Nancy nodded to me.

"Yeah, see you," I nodded before shouting a goodbye to Barb and then walking out the room.

I headed down the stairs, almost colliding with Mrs Wheeler.

"Sorry about that, Mrs Wheeler, didn't see you there," I apologised quickly, "just heading home."

"Alright, drive safe. God knows what'll happen if you fall on that bike of yours," the woman replied.

Ah my bike.

I forced a smile and nodded before waving and leaving the house, going straight to my motorbike parked on the side.

Dad didn't want me driving a car, said people get careless when they get cars, but honestly, don't people get even more so on motorbikes? I won't argue, I look a whole lot cooler on a bike than in a car any day anyway.

The next day_

"Hey, one of my best girls in this school," I pulled my helmet off as Barb approached me once I had finished parking.
