The sound of a plate and cutlery being slammed against the table next to me is what woke me up and I squinted as I glanced around, a bit confused.

I was in the living room still.

Oh, right. I was drinking with Steve. I must've passed out down here at some point.

Good to know. Now the dishes...

Turning towards where the source of the noise had come from, I found that one the side table next to the arm of the sofa I was slightly half sitting, half sprawled out across, there was a plate with a pretty... hefty breakfast that I only really eat when I'm at home in England because my Nanna makes one hell of an English Breakfast. And standing next to it was Steve Harrington.

"What..?" I couldn't even form my sentence my brain was so frazzled.

"Breakfast," he answered, "I cooked it."

"You look like you can't even boil water without burning it, what the hell do you mean you cooked this?" I stared, sitting up properly and stretching myself out with a yawn.

"Well, you're wrong because I can," he scoffed and turned back to the kitchen before coming back with another plate identical to mine with scrambled instead of fried eggs on it, "enjoy, I guess."

I stared at him for a moment before looking down at the food, "you poison this?"

"Why would I poison it?"

"Because we're not friends," I answered, "because I'm always calling you Steven, McFloppy, McFlippy Floppy, Steven Mc—"

"I get it," he cut me off, "it's not poisoned. Just eat."

Another moment of silence and I sighed before grabbing it and starting to eat.

It wasn't half bad. Not as good as my Nanna's but not half bad. I'd give it... a seven out of ten.

"Why're you still here?" I asked, halfway through my plate.

"I passed out, woke up about an hour and a half ago?" he replied, "thought I'd just make breakfast here for both of us since I'm pretty certain that you don't eat breakfast."

"I do," I scoffed, "it's just... I don't know, an apple. Sometimes I have a slice of toast."

"You've really got to eat more," he shook his head, and I just rolled my eyes.

"Look, it's either get an extra ten minutes of sleep or have breakfast. I choose sleep," I shot back as I quickly finished off the last of my food and headed over to the kitchen, tossing the dishes into the sink before grabbing a glass—no, grabbed two—and filled them with water before turning and heading back to the sofa where I passed one of them to Steve and started drinking the other one.

"You know what Nancy's favourite flowers are?" Steve asked, I glanced over to him.

"Uh—roses? I think?" I shrugged, "don't know. Never really talked about favourite... flowers... of all things. Why?"

I watched as he let out a determined huff and stood, "I'm going to win her back... and apologise for what I said behind the gym. But mostly win her back."

"Uh—Steve, she was out of town, I doubt she's going to be back," I reminded him.

"She'll be there. I bet it was a huge prank and when I go there she'll be there," he declared as he grabbed his keys from their place on the coffee table and started for the door, I hurried after him with a frown.

"Dude, she literally asked me to tell anyone asking for her that she's on a research trip!" I shouted after him, stopping in the doorway of the house as he threw open his car door and then turned to me.
