TW: Gun

I let out an annoyed shout as Steve and I pulled back into town, and I pulled up on a side street because I was just too annoyed to be driving.
Steve climbed out of his car and walked over to me.
"Where is she?" I sighed, "seriously, this is so unlike Barb. She's totally just disappeared off the face of the world?"
"Could she have run away after all?" Steve asked, "I mean—she was pretty stuck up, honestly. Maybe the pressure of keeping up with herself made her so stressed she just... ran?"
I glared at him, "she wasn't stuck up. I admit, she was a little more tense compared to others but not stuck up. And no. She'd—she'd never. She hated the town, but she loved her family. The only time she was planning to leave this town was to go to university, get a degree and become a great... something."
"Great something?" he repeated, giving me a weird look.
"Come on, man, you can't expect me to remember every single itty-bitty piece of information those girls tell me," I sighed, rolling my eyes, "I mean—come on. If you'd heard the amount of gossip girls have, you'd struggle to remember everything too."
Though, to be fair, most of the gossip was from Nance, not Barb.
"It's just frustrating," I muttered, "she used to call me every night. Mostly to nag and tell me to fix my grades so I can actually do something with myself in the future. But... there's nothing. Silence."
I sighed before glancing over to him, "this is your fault too, you know?"
"Mine? How?" he looked at me dumbfounded.
"If you hadn't insisted Nancy go to that idiot party of yours that night we wouldn't have been there. Barb would've been fine and at home," I told him.
"Hm—I guess but at the same time," he looked over to me, "neither of you had to be there. You could've just left Nancy on her own."
"See, issue with that," I stated, "I don't like you. Nancy is my friend. No chance I was leaving her with you and Tommy H, of all people. Not alone. Anyway—"
I let out a sigh as I looked up into the dark skies of the night before looking back over to this dude, "you should probably go apologise to Jonathan."
"Probably," he muttered.
"I'm going to go grab Nancy. They're together because they're both, along with others, being absolutely crazy," I climbed back onto my bike and pulled my helmet on, "come on. Let's go."
"Why is she with Jonathan?!" he shouted after me as I started to ride back out onto the main road again.
Moments later, I had his headlights trained on my back and glanced through my mirror.
"Well, at least he's finally stopped driving so close," I sighed as I led us towards the Byer's house.
We got there to find Jonathan's car in the front, and I pocketed my keys before climbing off my bike and pulling my helmet off after kicking down the kick stand and glancing back towards Steve who'd pulled up just beside me.
"Don't be a dick," I told him as we walked towards the door.
"Only if you stop being a bitch," was what I got in response before the guy started to smack down the door like his entire life depended on it.
"Yo, dude, you didn't need to knock that hard. I'm pretty sure the walls are thin enough that you don't need to almost put a fist through the door," I rolled my eyes, he just scoffed before shouting.
