"Fucking hate maths," I grumbled as I reached my locker and opened it, tossing the shit I'd been forced to take out earlier on my escorted way to class.

I looked out the doors to the left of me to see the Wheeler's car driving away from the school.

Nance?

No. Ignore her.

Let's start looking for Barb again.

I went to leave the school yet again but this time my physics teacher was stood in front of me.

A piece of paper tucked under his arm in his hand as he crossed his arms. I gave a confused look and tried to step around him before he stepped in front of me again.

"You. Me. My office, now," he told me.

"But... You don't have an office?" I raised a brow in confusion.

"Come on," he huffed turning and walking most likely to his classroom, I followed after awkwardly.

What could this be about?

When we were there, he told me to sit down at the desk at the front middle row and then slammed the sheet of paper in front of me.

"Oh," I got a good look at it.

It was my exam paper from last week.

Blank save for a few random doodles, a couple notes I needed to remember. Oh yeah, my bikes front wheel needs some more air. And the lyrics to a Metallica song I'd been listening to the morning before the exam. Song was stuck in my head for ages if I remember right.

"Oh? Oh? Is oh all you got for this paper?" He asked, "it's not even a paper. It's a mockery. Do you think I slave over making these exams just for you to spit on them and pass them off as a joke?"

"Well, probably not but you know. They're boring," I shrugged, "didn't even know how to answer half the questions anyway."

"You would if you actually attended my classes," he then put another sheet of paper on the table, looked like my school record, "see that 15%?"

I nodded.

"That's the amount of classes total you've so far attended this year," he informed me, "this. Year. Last year it was more by 4%. Listen, y/n, if you want to succeed in life, you've got to succeed in your classes. To succeed in your classes you've got to actually attend your classes. I expect to see you in your seat every class from tomorrow on."

Yeah no. Get fucked.

"Sure," I gave him a fake smile before standing, "can I go now?"

"Yes," he waved me off and I moved to the door and left before he could stop me.

What an ass. Does he think the world revolves around physics class? Damn.

I didn't even bother stopping this time and walked straight out the school and to my bike.

I'm going to walk the woods. See if I can find anything.

First I've got to start at the car.

And so I drove that direction, and kept driving... And driving... And... Driving?

Pulling over to the side of the road, I looked around.

"I could've sworn Barb's car was around here," I muttered as I climbed off and looked around, "did I pass it?... No. I can't have."

Did... someone tow her car or something?

Never mind, the woods are here anyway so I can just start from here.

And so I did, I walked through the woods, searching behind boulders, in small caves and places where the floor had caved in a bit. Even stumbled across a clearing with a weird rock structure but I just couldn't find anything.

There wasn't a single trace of Barbara anywhere.

"Barb!" I shouted, "come on, Barb! Where are you?!!"

Where are you?

I sighed and leaned against a tree trunk.

"I shouldn't have left her alone that night," I muttered before the sound of twigs cracking behind me caught my attention.

Alerted, I stepped away from the tree and looked around.

"Hello?" I called out, "who's there?"

I got no response but heard more cracking around me and instead shook my head.

"Nope, nope, nope," I quickly began speed walking back towards where I left my bike, "not today. Not today. Not. Today. Sir."
