If only

Chapter 4

"Hen do you copy? Hen" my father says over the radio

"this is Captain Nash for Henrietta Wilson, Do you copy" my father ask over the radio

"Is that A friend of yours" Ali asks and I nod

"Let's keep moving" Eddie says after he looks at my face and he can tell that I'm sad. Hen is like a sister to me, I don't know what I would do without her.

We make our way back up the stairs, we end up finding a floor that might be perfect to go down. turns out there's another stairwell that we can possibly go to. We make our way onto the floor, it's a little more easier to get to the wall since it's on the same side of the door.

"There's there's the north stairwell that connects to this floor. We can try that" Eddie says and we nod

"What if it's blocked too? Can't you guys get a ladder into one of the windows" Ali asks

"It's too risky, building has shifted too much" I say. We start making our way down the hall and I hear a buck call Ali by his exes name Abby. They were cute together but I don't think they were meant to be.

Abby was a 911 dispatcher, she was really nice. I met her a few times, her Buck started dating for a couple of months. Her mother had Alzheimer's and died a few months back. After that Abby decided to tour the world. But what Buck does not understand is that the relationship is over. He just doesn't understand that and believes that they're still together but you can tell it's kind of over between them.

"Having someone to worry about sounds nice actually" Ali says

"It's not" I say and she looks at me confused

"I have a son, he's seven and I'm worrying about him every second during this. it's not a good feeling. Not knowing if he's safe or alive" I say and I can see sadness in her eyes that she feels bad for me. I turn around look at the boys and they look the same way. Before we can do anything else or even say anything we hear someone calling for help. And the boys bust open the door when we figure out which one it's coming from. And we find a worker laying against the wall.

"Alyssa" Buck says calling me to do my job

The boys can diagnose him but I'm the one who has a little bit more experience than them. When I was pregnant with my son I was taking medical classes to learn how to be a medic. They weren't big classes they were more small and not too crazy. I learned majority of my medical stuff when I was working with Hen and Chimney. My first year Learning with them and I was basically at their level of medical by the end of the year. I make my way to the guy and the boys stay next to me in case I need any help

"Ok, I need you to stay as still as possible" I say to the guy examining him.

"Ok I need to roll him" I say and Eddie helps since it's easier for him to help me then back because of where their position

"One, two, three" I say and we roll him over so I can examine him better. Sometimes you have to examine from different positions.

"Can you wiggle your toes for me" I ask as Buck moves to the window to see if we can get a ladder to the window since they're broken. After I ask him that question and I get no response. I moved towards Buck and Eddie follows close behind

"numbness in his legs, loss of bladder control. Spinal injury" I say and they also agree

"We got to move him out now" I say and they nod

"On what? We don't have a backboard And every millimeter counts" Buck says and I nod. We move our heads around the room to see if we can find anything I could possibly help I even see Ali look. Which is also helps and she is by the door and we're all the way in the room.

"Guys what about this" She says showing us a ironing board. The boys look at her and then they look at me for an answer

"Prefect, prefect. Let's put him on it" I say

"Good, but how are we gonna get them down the stairwell" Eddie says and that's true, that would be a big problem

"Maybe we don't use the stairwell" Buck says and I look at him confused but then I realize what he means oh God!

A/N:

Sorry that the earthquake episodes are split into multiple chapters. There's just so much to put in and I don't wanna make it one big chapter. I probably only have one more chapter on the earthquake and then it's on to the rest of the episodes which will probably just be one chapter each or some of them I might not even put into the book or I might just combine A couple of episodes and one chapter but make them a little more smaller. I don't know yet we will see!
