If only

Chapter 8

once I'm all set to go I pick Christopher up so I can bring him up the stairs. We are working on going up the stairs, it's always been one of our struggles but we're getting better. But at my job he wouldn't be able to handle the amount of stairs we have here yet. It's usually once we get past the sixth step he struggles a little. We been practicing, i'll take them to places that I know have a lot of stairs and will practice going up and down them since our house doesn't have stairs and I don't feel like bringing him to my dad's apartment since the stairs are a little steep but also it's easier to take the elevator since my dad's apartment is up high and it would be too many stairs!

I bring my son upstairs to find everyone in the living room watching the news or relaxing. They don't notice me or my son until I put my son down and he starts using his crutches to move towards them

"Omg is this Christopher" Hen asks and I nod. No one's met my son yet except Eddie and Buck and my dad!

"Yup, this is my son Christopher Nash" I say and they smile

"Hi Christopher, I'm Hen. I'm best friends with your mom. If you ever need anything I'm always here" she says with a smile

"And I'm chimney but some people call me Chim" chim says introducing himself to my son. Everyone else introduce himself

"Hey Christopher, do you remember Buck and Eddie right" I ask and he nods

"Good, hey how about you go read a book? I know you have to finish the chapter soon since your class is going to go over it soon. I'm going to talk to my Friends for a little bit ok? If you need anything just call me ok" I say and get him situated on the couch with his book while I bring my friends over to the kitchen

"Hey, sorry about this! I have no one to watch him in the morning today and I have work and I didn't know what to do but bring him here. Around three my neighbor Abigail is coming to watch him until I get home tonight but until then I had no one to watch him so I brought him here I hope you guys don't mind. My father doesn't even know and I'm nervous about that" I say and they nod

"Hey you have nothing to worry about, before you came here I brought my son here once because Karen couldn't get off of work until three hours after my shift started. Bobby didn't mind as long as he stayed out of trouble and didn't cause any problems" Hen says and I nod

"Hey, your dad won't be mad! He loves your son right" Buck ask and I nod

"If he Love your son and he won't be mad about this. It's not like he staying for the whole shift" he says and I nod

"Thanks guys, I hope you guys can get along with my son because you'll be seeing him a lot more. And when I mean by that is I wanna invite you guys over for dinner and actually hang out with you guys at my house and not out in public" I say and they nod

"So that's why you always said no to certain things and no to hanging out at your house" Hen says and I nod

"Yeah, because none of you guys knew about him so I couldn't bring anyone to my house and if anyone did show up to my house I was always very hesitant to let them in because my house is full of things that my son loves" I say and they nod

"literally if you wanna stop in my house you can easily tell the kid lives there. My room is full of books, children's blankets, stuffed animals and pictures of him. That kid is my world" I say with a smile

"Mommy" my son says and I go over to him

"Yes buddy" I say

"I'm hungry" he says and I go to his bag and a pull out his favorite snack which is I fruit salad. I tend to make him a small bowl of fruit salad for snack sometimes. Sometimes I wake up and I cut certain fruits to make a little fruit salad for him.
