If only

Chapter 13

"Ok, that's a lot. You guys will get through it" she says and I nod. I hear the sound of my son coming out of his room.

"Mommy" he says, coming out of his room, dressed up in his costume. OMG he looks so adorable in his costume!

"Ok I think the cutest costume goes to you, bud" I say with a smile on my face! I love Halloween because I get to see my son dress up, and he always looks so adorable in his costumes

"Ok you look so cute, most adorable costume goes to Christopher" Carla says and I close next to my son so we can take pictures together.

Over the years I would take pictures with my son at his most cute moments but also a moments that he achieved something. Every holiday and uncertain days are not holidays. I would take pictures of my son or me with him or family and friends! During the time I was pregnant with Christopher, I made a scrapbook! In the scrapbook, I have pictures from my pregnancy of ultrasounds and pictures of my belly growing. I also have pictures from when Christopher was a baby till now. I made it for two reasons, the main reason is to show how much my son has grown over the years, but also so Eddie can see what he missed if he ever knew about his son. Which I'm planning on showing this to him sometime soon so we can see what he missed, but also catch up on events that happened in Christopher's life!

After we take a couple of pictures, we head out to go trick-or-treating. Carla even comes with to help since it's kind of a lot of walking but I bring a little wagon, so Christopher doesn't have to do too much walking. I bring one with me every year because at a certain point Christopher will say that his legs hurt but he always wants to keep going and not go home yet. Because I would usually stop once he says his legs hurt, that's when I would say ok I think we're done for the night. We stay out for about two hours and then we head home!

For the rest of the the night we watch Halloween movies that are made for kids and are not scary. We also eat delicious treats that I made the night before!

This reminds me of Halloween that I spent with Eddie! I in high school on Halloween. I would spend it with Eddie at his house and we would watch scary movies and eat popcorn and snuggle! We would also buy matching costumes and take pictures together and answer the door whenever there was trick-or-treaters. I miss those days! I was never really the type of person to go to parties, I'm not really a person. I will sometimes go to gatherings with family and friends, but not crazy parties! Wasn't that kind of guy either until senior year when he ditched me for Halloween and went to high school with Shannon. Senior year was the year I started to see a change with the way he was acting around me. She would also be there!

After we watch movies, I put Christopher to bed since he started falling asleep on the couch. I sent Carla home for the night since I don't have work tonight and I'm not working till tomorrow afternoon. After I put him to bed, I got myself ready for bed and settle for the night!

-few days later-

I interrupted by my phone ringing, I'm currently watching TV with Christopher and eating mac & cheese, which is Christopher's favorite food.

"I will be right back bud" I say and he no. I head to my room and close the door. I recognize this number and this is gonna tell me if my son's life is going to change or not and if I have to go hunting again.

"Hello" I say answering the phone

"Hi, is this Mrs. Nash?" She says and I nod

"Yes this is she" I say

"Hi Mrs. Nash it's principal Summers from the school. How are you doing today?" She says

"I'm great how about yourself?" I say

"I'm great also, thanks for asking. So I'm here to talk about Christophers enrollment with the school." She says and that's when I get nervous

"I'm here to inform you that Christopher can start attending the school on Monday. He will get his school uniforms when he comes here on Monday. Eddie came for his interview yesterday and it went really well" she says and I breath

"Thank you so much, principal summers" I say

"You're very welcome! Your son seems like an amazing kid and I can't wait for him to start attending" she says

"I can't wait. Also, I think the school is perfect for Christopher." I say

"I think so also, I will see you and him on Monday" she says

"See you then" I say

"See you then, have a wonderful rest of your day" she says and hangs up. I start doing a happy dance in my room since my son now gets to attend a better school and not some school that will make him feel left out. It's time to tell my son, for the past few days he's been asking me if I heard anything from the school.

"Christopher, guess what" I say excited

"What?" He asks confused

"on Monday you're going to your new school, you got in! No more going to your old school you're going to your new school now" I say excited

"Yay, this is the best day ever" he says excited, he gets up from the couch and gives me the biggest hug. I spend my last hour with my son before I have to start getting ready for work. We end up eating ice cream to celebrate! I have a really good feeling about this!

Important update: so now that I'm back to school, I've been very busy. So my goal is to try to upload a chapter once once a week maybe twice. It all comes down to how many chapters I have completed and if I have time. For the past two days I've been working on the next couple of chapters and I'm currently working on chapter 18! My goal is to try to post every Monday and then if I'm gonna post a second time it will probably be on a Friday. But I don't know we will see how everything goes!
