Chapter 15

Hen POV

Whoever that man is and their wife, I hate that person so bad. I've never seen Alyssa this upset and it scared me because she never cries at all. I make my way back into the station and her father, buck, chimney, and Eddie come over to me, asking me 1 million questions about her and if she's ok.

"Ok one by one" I say and pull them into cap office since I don't want anyone else to hear this since she only told me, I can tell certain people

"Ok someone throw a question" I say

"Is she ok" her dad ask and I nod

"She will be she just needs some time to herself so she wanted me to let you know that she left for the day and won't be returning for the rest rest of her shift" I say and he nods

"I'm fine with that I'm gonna check up on her later after the shift is over" he says and I nod

"What happened" Chim ask

"Ok, she's allowing me just to tell you guys and that's why I pulled you guys into the office since I don't want anyone else hearing because it's only you guys is who she wants to know and she told me everything" I say and they nod

"So she told me recently she told the father of her son about her son, she told me they met, and the father was the only way for her son to get into the school he's in now and he really needed to get into that school. so she went ahead and told the father about Christopher. Christopher and the father met she told me and a while ago she got a call from the state that she has to appear in court on Friday for a custody hearing as the wife of the father filed for custody. So now she scared that she's gonna lose custody of her son and she's not gonna be able to see him again." I say

"Omg, that was her biggest fear. It was her biggest fear about telling the father. She loses custody. It's gonna break her. That kid is everything to her" Bobby says and we nod

"She gonna win right" Buck asks

"She told me her chances are very low, considering that the father is married and she's not. She's a single mother, and she also kept the kid a secret from the father. The father never knew she was pregnant back then." I say and they nod

"All we can do is pray, and hope that she wins" Bobby says and we nod. I've noticed a look on Eddie's face that I can't read.

Eddie Pov

"wtf Shannon" I say in a angry tone entering our house after my shift is over

"What? What wrong?" She asks confused and concerned, because I never ever use that tone with her before.

"You filed for custody, and now we have a court hearing on Friday" I say and she realizes what she did

"I did what I had to do Eddie, you deserve to see your son more! I want to see him more, he's not your son he's my son also" she says, she met Christopher twice, and she immediately fell in love with him. But I could tell Christopher was not so accepting around her. Christopher told me he doesn't like Shannon but he's putting on a bright face to make me happy and her happy. He says that he wishes it was his mother married to me and not Shannon.

"Alyssa is doing well with letting me see Christopher whenever I want. She recently even started letting me pick him up from school and bring him here" I say

"Well it's time things change. I think we deserve custody and I know we win because we're married and we love each other and she's a single mother" she says and I snap

"Yeah because of me! But it might've not even turned out that way, if you did not hide that letter" I say, I never brought up the letter. But I found it recently when I went through a draw where Shannon keeps jewelry since she left her earrings on the dresser and I decided to put them away so they don't get ruined

Well, I ended up finding the letter with the ultrasound and Alyssa's name was on the ultrasound! So she did hide it from me and she had it all this time

"What are you talking about" she says dumb not knowing what I'm talking about

"Shannon, I found the letter Alyssa left me the day before she left. I found it when I was putting your earrings away the other night you left them out and I didn't want them to get ruined. I found it under your little jewelry box holders. You had it all this time and you kept it from me. You lied to me the day I saw it fall" I say and she doesn't know what to say since she knows it's true

"I'm sorry, I should've never kept it from you" she says sad

"Sorry not gonna cut it because now we have to go to a freaking court on Friday and if we win full custody, it will destroy Alyssa! That kid is her world and I can see it every time she looks at him and hangs with him" I say

"Well she can come whenever she wants" she says

"Do you not realize for her keeping the kid away away from us for years they might not even let her come near him at all" I say and she realizes what I said

"Oh, but they won't do that. They can't keep the birthmother from the kid" she says

"I hope your right" I say, going into the guestroom

"Why are you going in there?" She asks

"Because I'm tired and I want to go to bed and I don't feel like sleeping with my wife who went behind my back and filed for custody" I say pissed

"But I had to do what I had to do. I'm doing this for us" she says

"You're not doing this for us, we're doing this for yourself! We agreed not to file for custody. Everything was going well in our lives and just messed everything up." I say closing the door in her face and locking it. I really regret leaving Alyssa for Shannon.
