Chapter 22

"Yeah bud" I say going to his room

"Bud you gotta start packing you're going back to your dad's later" I say and he looks sad

"I wish I didn't have to, I wish we all lived together and we're a family so that way I don't have to travel between houses" he says

"I know but it might change in the future but right now me and daddy don't live together" I say and he nods

"I'm so happy you're back mom, I really miss you" he says with a smile

"I really missed you too but I'm back now and I'm not going anywhere for a very very long time" I say and he nods

"Is it bad to say I'm happy that Shannon is gone" he says and I look at him

"Kinda, why would you say something like that?" I ask him

"She was horrible, She never understood me at all, she would get me things that I did not like, she always wanted me to call her mommy but that's what I call you. And when Dad wasn't around, she was rude to me and forcing" he says, I hate her

"Hey, Did you tell Dad this?" I ask him

"No she said if I told Dad she would not let me see you ever again" he says sad

"Hey, you will never see that woman again. And I'm not going anywhere. Besides, she didn't understand you because she didn't raise you but how is it going with Dad?" I ask and he smile

"Really good, he's funny and we get along very well" he says and I smile

"Aww I'll start getting stuff together because he's coming in an hour" I say and he nods.

I help him pack to hopefully speed things along. You might think why does he have to pack? He should have stuff at my house and his dad's house. He does but there's some things he has at his dad's house that he also wishes he had here but doesn't. But there's also things he likes to bring with him back-and-forth. He usually brings a backpack and a small suitcase with him. Which we're both ok with as long as he doesn't bring too much stuff and bring the right things.

"Hey bub, do you think you'll be ok packing on your own for a few minutes? Mommy has to make a phone call" I say remembering something important

"Yeah, if I need you, I'll call you" he says and I nod

I stepped out of his room and going into my room, which is right down the hall, but I leave my door open a little bit in case he needs me. I remembered that I emailed the chief asking him when he's available for a phone call. And he gave me a timeframe to call him and it's in that timeframe. I'm thinking about returning to work, Lena also misses me! But I also miss helping people and my doctor cleared me and said that I'm ready to go back whenever I would like! I even went through training classes to make sure I'm back to normal!

C= chief A= Alyssa

C: hello
A: hello chief, this is Alyssa, Marie Nash! I was going to inform you that I'm ready to return
C: good afternoon Alyssa, something told me I would get this call soon since I got word that you were in the training facility to see if you were ready and you passed.
A: yeah it felt nice to be training but I really want to get back out there and help people. My doctor cleared me and did a check up on me after the training and said that everything was perfect
C: I'm glad to hear that, so starting on Monday it will be with the 118. And before you say something 136 is out of order right now. Every member who has returned from that team has been relocated to a different station for the time being and the house is up and running again they will go back including you if you wish to return to that team or you can stay at the 118 if you like.
A: I'm glad to hear they rebuilding the station. It needed a few tweaks to it. I still haven't decided which team I want to go to. Can I let you know when the team is able to go back?
C: of course, no rush I understand it's a big decision. But I would need to know once the stations up and running. And I know it did need a few repairs. your captain has been requesting them for the last few months. And they finally got approved after the tsunami.
A: great thank you so much

"Mommy" Christopher calls me

A: I have to go my son is calling me
C: of course talk to you soon, I'll email you some information
A: thank you bye
C: bye

"Yeah bub" I ask

"My dinosaur stuffed animal broke" he says sadly showing me his dinosaur pillow that has a rip in the side

"Oh no, what should we do?" I ask him

"can you fix him?" He asks and I nod

"I can and I will. He will be good as new in no time" I say taking the stuff to animal going to fix it. I learned a few things about stitching, but also being a paramedic it's very similar to stitching up a wound.

Takes me about 10 minutes and then the stuffed animal is good as new. I can't wait to give it back to. I got this for him before I left and he really loved it so much. He's into dinosaurs, planes and even trains. He has a big fascination and I love it!

"All fix and he is looking perfect" I say right as I give it back to him the doorbell rings

"I got it" he says happy about his stuffed animal back to new

"Daddy" he says opening the door

"Hey buddy" he says giving him a hug

"Mommy fixed my stuffed animal" he says

"Did she" Eddie asks and Christopher nods

"Yeah, see she's talented" my son says showing Eddie what I did

"So so, it's just my training for being a paramedic and stitching things up" I say

"Cool" my son says

"Hey, how about you go grab your bag so you can go with your father" I say and he nods leaving to get his bag from his room

"Hey" Eddie says

"Hey" I says as slightly awkward between the two of us. Have getting better but there's times where things are a little awkward

"Did he have fun" Eddie ask and I nod

"Yup, he had a lot of fun! He keeps telling me he wishes we all live in the same house so he doesn't have to go back-and-forth. He tells me he has so much fun, but he hates going back-and-forth" I say and he nods

"Well maybe on certain nights and day we can start spending time in the same home maybe? Like for a few days you'll stay at my house with me and Chris and then we'll switch and stay at yours. See how it goes, maybe it might make him feel better" Eddie says

"I don't know, maybe! I'll have to get back to you on that" I say and he nods

"Ready" Chris says coming into the room

"Let's go buddy" Eddie says telling his son to come

"Wait, I have to say bye to mom" he says with a smile

"Bye mommy, love you" Chris says giving me a hug and I kiss him on the head

"Bye bud, I love you. Stay safe and have fun" I say with a smile

"Bye bye" I say as they leave the house. I close the door a breathe

"Really Eddie" I say thinking about what he said

I'm back! Hope you enjoyed this chapter! Sorry if it's not the best I'm slowly getting back into this book and finding out what to do next!!

The next chapter might not be till the middle of  next week, I'm getting surgery the end of this week and I don't know how I will feel so I might not publish the next chapter till next week! Hope you understand!

Will Alyssa accept his offer?? Will she live with him??
