The Droid Tr-Fighter was a droid designed to excel in dogfighting and space combat. Designed by the Colicoid Creation Nest, it was manufactured by Colla Designs and Phlac-Arphocc Automata Industries. With three curved wings, it had three independent thrusters for mobility. It flew at 1,180-37,000kph (733-22,990.4 mph)
They were equipped with three light blaster cannons, one on each wing, and one heavy laser cannon, which were capable of firing individually or simultaneously. Try-Fighters were equipped with up to six missiles of variable payloads including Proton Torpedoes and Discord Missiles, capable of releasing Buzz Droids. They had a steady and powerful reactor, along with a communications transceiver giving them high communications range.
The three wings surrounded the droid brain, inside a rotational gyro sphere. They had four red photoreceptors, two on each 'eye'. They measured 5.4m (17ft 8.5in) long and 3.45m (11ft 3.8in) wide, and sported the Confederacy's grey and dark blue colour design.
The droids proved difficult to defeat even troubling Jedi pilots, and would become deadly in squads of three.
Droid Tri-Fighters were deployed during the Separatist Invasion of Coruscant. They rivaled the Republic ARC-170s and engaged the defending Republic forces.
They costed 20,000 credits to make.
