Manufactured by Baktoid Armor Workshop and the Commerce Guild, the A-DSD Advanced Dwarf Spider Droid was a heavy armour variant of the DSD-1 Dwarf Spider Droid. This variant was capable of operating in complete darkness. They had one red photoreceptor which was equipped with a scanner to detect enemy targets.
They were armed with a heavy blaster cannon with explosive power and two fire-linked missile launchers. Their two front legs were protected by armour plates, with lights. The plates protected them from any frontal attack launched against it, although they could have been blown off.
These droids encountered Delta Squad on several missions such as missions on Kashyyyk and Geonosis.
