Eradicate ?Jacob Black [The Final Chapter] (Discontinued)

The wedding reception began as the sun had fallen and there was already a party starting with all of the fancy champagne that had begun to flow. Kate had found Jacob immediately after she stood for what seemed like hours taking pictures in her gown. They stood in the corner of the room talking with Seth, Sue, Billy, and Charlie.

After a while, they saw a break from well-wishers and decided to go give their own to the newlyweds. Seth walked up to Edward like an overly excited puppy while the rest of the group followed.

"Hey man! Nice to see you," the two clasped hands, "I'm happy for you."

"Thank you," Edward said with a wide smile. Kate wasn't sure that he had ever smiled this much in his whole life.

"I hope you'll be happy, Bella," Billy wished her.

"Thank you, Billy," she told him.

Next to Kate, Charlie bowed out his chest and sighed, "Well I plan on getting drunk." The whole group laughed at him knowing that what he was saying was going to happen.

"They're serving up some great fancy champagne. Sue, can I get you a glass?" he asked the older woman.

Sue smiled sweetly at him but Billy was having none of it. He turned around and rammed Charlie in the ankles, "Sparkling firewater, sounds great."

Jacob laughed at his dad and whispered to him, "Let it go, dad," before Seth and Jacob followed him to the tables holding the champagne bottles with Sue and Charlie trailing embarrassed after them.

Some more people had arrived to greet Bella and Edward so Kate began to turn away before Edward called her back, "Kate, come meet my family."

It took Kate a second to turn around but when she did, she had another smile on her face. All of this smiling was starting to make her cheeks sore. She stood next to Bella as a beautiful man and woman came to greet Bella with hugs. Kate took one look at the brunette and swore right then that she had to be the most beautiful woman in the entire world. Behind her came three blonde women of equal beauty. Freaking vampires, Kate swore.

Edward laughed next to her having read her thoughts. She reached behind Bella's back and pinched him on the arm.

"Stay out of my head," she thought to him which only caused him to laugh even more.

"Thank you! Eleazar and Carmen, right?" Bella clarified.

Edward laughed, "Yes, these are our cousins from Alaska. Tanya, Kate..."

Kate gave them a small wave and turned to the blonde vampire named Kate.

"Kate, nice name," she chuckled.

The vampire chuckled as well, "Yes well I claimed it a long time ago."

"Touché"

"We've heard so much about you, about both of you."

Eleazar stuck out his hand to Kate, "Welcome to the family."

She took it gently not even flinching at his cold temperature. She decided then that she liked these people. Daresay, she liked them more than she liked some of the Cullens.

One of the blonde vampires had not come over to greet and introduce herself to the Swan sisters. There was a pained look on her face one that Jasper usually had when he was trying to avoid killing everyone. Kate followed her gaze and saw that she was staring at Seth and Jacob who were laughing together with champagne in their hands. Billy, on the other hand, was staring right back at Irina with a challenging look on his face. Kate's smile fell and turned into a questioning scowl as she looked at Irina, immediately feeling defensive of her boys.

Carmen called over to her, "Irina, come meet Bella and Kate."

Irina came over to Carmen and whispered to her, "I can't do this."

Tanya, the oldest of the sisters, scolded her sister, "You promised."

"They invited some," Irina spat.

Edward tensed up next to Bella already sensing Kate's angry thoughts, "Irina, they're our friends."

"They killed Laurent."

Before Edward could stop her Kate spoke up, "He tried to kill me and Bella."

Irina's gaze flashed to Kate and she took a step toward her ignoring the flash of blue that crossed over Kate's eyes, "I don't believe that."

"Well you should, I was actually there..."

"He wanted to be like us."

"Well he wasn't doing a good job now was he?" Kate questioned.

She could feel Bella smack Kate in the hand to make her shut up but the vampire and the siren had an intense stare down neither willing to back down. Kate knew she wouldn't lose but she was curious to see just how far Irina was willing to push this.

As if he could sense her anger, Jacob appeared behind her putting his hand on the small of her back getting defensive as well.

"Everything alright?" he asked tensely.

Anyone who knew what was going on could tell that the both of them were ready to spring into action at any moment.

Irina took one loathing look at Jacob and stalked off. Tanya called after her but it was no use. He sister was already going to another part of the party.

To diffuse the tension Eleazar spoke up, "Let's not monopolize the bride."

With one last apology and head nod, the Denali coven followed Irina away. Kate and Jacob stood there both still tense looking like gods ready to smite anyone who irritated the other.

"Was it something I said?" Jacob semi-growled.

Kate began to relax slightly, "Just the past coming back to bite us in the ass, come on let's get a drink."
