It was past 12 pm and Sakura has just finished reporting a finished antidote to Lady Tsunade. She could be seen from far away with her pink hair and green eyes. Her teammates haven't talked to her and her sensei, kakashi, hasn't told her anything about team training. 'They're probably busy,' she thought to herself as she was walking towards their training ground. No one was there. "Well better get started on my normal routine," she said as she started putting on her gloves. She started collecting chakra into her fists and hit the ground, making the ground lightly tremble and cracks appear. 'Looks like my training is paying off.' She started doing push-ups, pull ups, sit ups and ran around the training ground. 'Is Tsunade trying to kill us! Outer you know this is for our own good. Aren't you tired of feeling useless and your friends calling you weak? Hey they don't say that, I'm pretty sure we misheard them. I was tired that day.
Sakura...
Before Sakura could ask, she felt a raindrop fall on her face. She looked up at the sky and noticed the grey clouds and soon rain began to pour. 'Great, just what I needed,' she thought.
She started running, hoping to get out of the rain. When she was running she passed the Ichiraku Ramen stand, not noticing her team and friends there. She kept running and after 10 minutes , she reached her house and took her sandals off. "Mom , Dad, I'm home." She heard no reply and remembered that her parents were celebrating their anniversary. She dismissed the feeling of loneliness and headed to take a shower. She turned on the water and started washing her hair. 'Sasuke....' it had been 3 weeks since she saw the Uchiha. The morning she woke on the bench, that day, she felt her heart break. She sighed and got out of the shower, dried herself, and put on some comfortable clothes. She looked out her window and saw the dark sky. ' The sun went down, or is it the clouds that's making the sky look dark.' She went to a shelf and took out some medical scrolls that Lady Tsunade had instructed her to read. She read for an hour and felt her eye lids getting heavy and fell asleep, not knowing the news she would receive in the morning.
*Meanwhile*
"Do you always eat like this Naruto!" A blond haired Kunoichi said as she saw him eat the Ramen. Kakashi just nodded and sweat dropped at his student. Kurenai's and Asuma's teams, along with their team members, were there as well. Shikamaru looked around and didn't notice a pink haired Kunoichi.
"Naruto, wheres Sakura? Isn't she supposed to be here?" He asked while raising an eyebrow. Ino scoffed and said ,"Forehead is probably making sure her hair is soft, she's weak Shikamaru. All she cares about are her looks."
Shikamaru's eyes widened at that. Did he just hear her say that? Naruto seemed to be in thought and Kurenai decided to speak up. "The reason why Sakura is not here is because Kakashi didn't tell her. Nor about the mission we've been assigned too." Hinata, Shikamaru, and Choji all looked confused, while the others just shook their heads. "She's weak, plus she's just a civilian. What can she do? Crying won't help her get anywhere," Kiba said. Shino stayed quiet, not knowing Sakura as well as the others. "I-I don't th-think she's wea-weak," the Hyūga heiress said as she looked down. "Yeah Hinata is right, aren't we all striving to be better. Sure she may not be as strong as you guys want her to be, but she's training harder than everyone else," added Choji and Shikamaru smiled. "Hmm, the mission is to retrieve Sasuke and we have been assigned to bring him back. I took Sakura out of the team for the mission. This may take more than a year," the grey haired Jonin said as he looked at the genin. Shikamaru looked outside the stand and saw a pink haired Kunoichi running to get out of the rain. He sighed and looked at Hinata and Choji. "Asuma sensei, i decline to go on this mission. Konoha needs me here and I'm a proctor for the Chūnin exams now, I can't leave," he said , shocking everyone else. Choji and Hinata stared at him and stood up. "I de-decline as we-well. Naruto, sa-sakura is you-your teammate and you did-didn't defend h-her, and th-that's not righ-right." "I'm sorry Asuma sensei but I rather stay here and Improve myself, and Hinata is right,"Choji added. Kurenai and Asuma looked at them disapprovingly, "Then you'll stay here with that weakling," Ino said as she crossed her arms. Naruto looked at his three friends ," Guys but Ino and Kiba are right.." Hinata stared at her crush, shocked he would say that. "How troublesome, you're her teammate, Naruto. She can be strong," and with that Shikamaru left the stand. Hinata just quietly left and Choji looked at his sensei, before walking out. A heavy silence fell on the rest. "We depart in an hour, gather your supplies and meet at the gates," and with that they all left and paid for their food.
