Down the Same Path

Itachi and Sakura were a feared duo, but Obito did not care. Sakura was hurt her friend was fighting against her,but she was glaring at him, hiding her emotions. She was caught up in her thoughts and was brought back when Obito decided to shoot fire at her. She barely dodged but her arm had been in the way. She scowled and took of her heavy cloak, the sleeve of her shirt was burned off ,and Hinata gasped as she saw the old Sakura. Sakura engaged in a battle of taijutsu with Obito, and all the shinobi could see was punches being thrown and kicks landing on their victim. Sakura had succeeded in landing a punch but Obito landed a kick on her , and they both flew away from each other. Itachi jumped in and ran to Obito, kunai ready. The clangs of the metal against each other were heard, and Sakura did a hand sign.

"Byakugo!" Sasuke , Naruto, Hinata, and Choji tensed as a image of their old Sakura appeared. Sakura ran to Itachi and they both nodded at each other. Sakura purposely caught herself in the chains , but used her rinnegan and suddenly Obito appeared in the chains, making Itachi successfully land a kunai to his chest. Sakura put force on the kunai, making it go through the other side of his heart. Obito fell but smirked as Sakura's eyes tensed in pain and Itachi's eyes bled. Their toll was taking over their own bodies. Hidan and Kakuzu saw that and charged into battle.

They fought long and hard and both were bloodied, Obito looked battered but his plan had worked. He appeared in front of the Konoha Shinobi coughing out blood. "Itachi and Sakura are innocent, they didn't kill the clan because they wanted too," at that Itachi and Sakura tensed and ran to Obito, kunai and punch ready. "They were forced by the v-," he stopped as a punch went through his heart and a kunai was embedded in a vital spot. Obito gave a soft smile at Sakura and she tensed. "Goodbye Sakura and I'll see you soon, Rin," and with that he fell forward, dead to the world.

Sakura was panting while Itachi had one eye closed. Sakura's hair was out of her ponytail and Itachi's headband laid on the battle field. As Sakura looked down her headband fell, but she sighed and left it there. She put a healing hand on Itachi's face and healed his eyes. Her byakugo slowly healed her and she breathed out. Itachi looked at Sakura's headband and sighed. They both picked up their cloaks and put them on,walking back to the rest of the Akatsuki. The rain fell on the Shinobi and washed the blood away from the Akatsuki. "Hidan, grab Tobi's body," Konan stated and Hidan nodded and went to his old comrade body. He picked it up, and carried it back to his family. "Let's go into the house and you can do your sacrifice," konan said and they all turned but were stopped by four Shinobi.

Hinata and Sasuke had pain in their eyes, while Naruto and Choji looked at their pink haired friend, sadly. "Is it true?" Hinata said and Sasuke opened his mouth," Were you forced?" Itachi and Sakura tensed but looked at Tsunade. She sadly nodded no and that was all that they needed to know. Itachi and Sakura walked forward, and Sasuke felt a pang  of pain go through his heart as his brother and old teammate walked away from him. Hinata clenched her fist,"Why won't you tell us anything!" Sakura kept walking forward into the village and Itachi walked beside her. " They were not forced, they simply did it for themselves," was all Konan said and the rest of the Akatsuki followed the duo. Itachi's and Sakura's tears mixed with the rain. They really wanted to tell them the truth but they couldn't and their dam broke.

They both walked silently and cried silently. Their hair hung to their faces and they entered the grave site, while the rest of the Akatsuki went to their home. They stood next to each other as they saw the graves. Shikamaru Nara, Mikoto Uchiha. Fugaku Uchiha, and Shikaku Nara. Those names belonged to people they loved and knew closely. They had raised them and given them love and the way they got repaid was death by them. "Itachi, they're coming," Sakura said and soon Sasuke,Hinata, Naruto, and Choji entered the grave yard. "Itachi," Sasuke said and Itachi tensed. "Is it true, that you were forced?" Itachi stayed quiet. "Sakura-Chan, come back to us,"Naruto said with a hand held out to her. Itachi saw Sakura tense, just like him. She sighed and turned to them. She had her eyes closed but soon opened them, purple eyes stared at them. She put a hand on Itachi's shoulder and quickly switched places with Sasuke and Hinata. They walked away , leaving the four shocked.
